Article Abstract

This paper attempts to verify that the resource utilization of municipal solid waste (MSW) is a feasible method to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We combine the data and empirical study results of Shanghai, China, to calculate and project Shanghai's contribution to China's 2030 carbon peak commitment through MSW resource utilization process from 2021 to 2030. The calculation uses IPCC recommended methods. The results show: compared to Scenario 1 (the traditional mixed treatment of MSW), Scenario 2 (the classification of MSW for resource utilization) demonstrates significant carbon emission reduction benefits for all types of MSW in Shanghai, with an increasing trend year by year. Among these, the emission reduction potential of recyclable material utilization is the most prominent. Through S2, Shanghai's MSW sector can cumulatively reduce emissions by 325 million tons from 2020 to 2030, surpassing the carbon peak target for 2030. Additionally, it is projected to generate economic benefits ranging from 11.35 billion to 28.192 billion yuan, equivalent to 0.89 %-2.21 % of Shanghai's GDP in the first quarter of 2025 (1.27 trillion yuan).

Hemophilia, an X-linked monogenic disorder, arises from mutations in the or genes, which encode clotting factor VIII (FVIII) or clotting factor IX (FIX), respectively. As a prominent hereditary coagulation disorder, hemophilia is clinically manifested by spontaneous hemorrhagic episodes. Severe cases may progress to complications such as stroke and arthropathy, significantly compromising patients' quality of life.

Blood pressure variability (BPV), independent of mean BP, is an emerging predictor of cardiovascular risk and hypertension-mediated organ damage. However, its clinical utility remains limited due to the lack of clear guideline recommendations, leading to variability in physician practices. Using the modified Delphi method, this is the first Egyptian consensus to provide expert recommendations for integrating BPV in Egypt's resource-limited settings.

Aurora kinases are a group of serine/threonine kinases essential for cell mitosis, comprising Aurora A, B, and C. However, the Aurora B is overexpressed in multiple tumors and the aurone has been proved to exhibit potent inhibitory activity against Aurora B kinase by our group. The indolinone was considered as an aurone scaffold hopping analog, and the indolinone-based Aurora B inhibitor library (3577 molecules) was constructed by FBDD strategy.

This review delivers a focused and critical evaluation of recent progress in the green synthesis of carbon quantum dots (CQDs), with particular attention to state-of-the-art approaches utilizing renewable biomass as precursors. The main objective is to systematically examine innovative, environmentally friendly methods and clarify their direct influence on the core properties and photocatalytic performance of CQDs. The novelty of this review stems from its comprehensive comparison of green synthetic pathways, revealing how specific processes determine key structural, optical, and electronic attributes of the resulting CQDs.
