Article Abstract

Fabricating eutectic high-entropy alloys (EHEAs) via selective laser melting (SLM) presents significant potential for advanced structural applications. This study explores the microstructural evolution of FeCrNiAlTi EHEAs fabricated by SLM under varying laser powers. Electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) analysis revealed that samples fabricated at 200 W exhibited approximately 70% face-centered-cubic (FCC) and 30% body-centered-cubic (BCC) phases. In comparison, those processed at 160 W showed an increased FCC fraction of 85% with a corresponding reduction in BCC content. Grain size measurements indicated that BCC grains were consistently finer than their FCC counterparts. Thermal simulations demonstrated that higher laser power produced deeper melt pools and broader temperature gradients. By correlating thermal history with phase diagram data, the spatial variation in BCC content was attributed to the differential residence time in the 1350-1100 °C range. This study represents one of the first attempts to quantitatively link local thermal histories with the evolution of dual-phase (FCC + BCC) microstructures in EHEAs during SLM. The findings contribute to the improved understanding and control of phase formation in complex alloy systems, providing valuable guidance for tailoring SLM parameters to optimize the phase composition and microstructure of EHEAs.

Mg-Sc body-centered cubic (BCC) phase-structured alloys not only exhibit superior room-temperature ductility and quasi-isotropic deformation behaviors compared to conventional hexagonal close-packed (HCP) Mg alloys in mechanical applications, but they also demonstrate a shape-memory effect that is applicable to intelligent devices. Due to the introduction of a dual-phase microstructure feature, the unveiled strengthening/toughening mechanism, and the potential benefit of Sc alloying in BCC creep deformation, it is necessary to investigate the composition and time-dependent creep behaviors of BCC Mg-Sc alloys, such as creep resistance and strain rate sensitivity at room temperature, through nano-indentation on the Mg-Sc diffusion couple. A critical finding is that as the Sc content increases from 23.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common skin cancer in the United States. Common treatment approaches for superficial, small, and/or low grade BCCs include topical therapy or curettage plus electrodesiccation and cryotherapy. For larger, high-grade, and/or certain subtypes of BCC, surgical therapy is typically pursued, occasionally under anesthesia for large lesions.

The erosion resistance of materials against solid particles is a very important property, especially in the transportation of powders or in aeronautics (dust inside jet engines). There is a strong need to introduce new materials that have higher solid particle erosion resistance than state-of-the-art materials. Thus, in the present work, the solid erosion particles of high entropy alloys (HEAs) based on the Al0.

Child undernutrition remains a global challenge, intricately linked to systemic inequities in access to maternal and child health and nutrition (MCHN) services. While SMS-based behaviour change communication (BCC) offers a scalable strategy to address this challenge, its effectiveness is often undermined by low and inconsistent user engagement. This study extends the impact evaluation of the mNutrition programme in Tanzania-a nationwide SMS-based BCC programme aimed at improving maternal and child nutrition (MCN)-to investigate what drives sustained, long-term engagement-an important but underexplored gap.

Beauveria bassiana strains are commercially available as mycoinsecticides and are widely used for insect control. However, its effectiveness is often hindered by vulnerability to environmental stressors such as UV radiation, drought, and heat. Exposure to moderate heat, which is considered a triggering stimulus, partially inhibits the germination of conidia.
