Atherosclerosis is the leading cause of global cardiovascular morbidity and mortality associated with inflammatory and immunological mechanisms. Immunotherapy has demonstrated promising efficacy in the management of atherosclerosis. Nevertheless, certain immunotherapeutic approaches are associated with limitations, including suboptimal efficacy and non-negligible adverse effects.

Suboptimal care for ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in low- and middle-income countries is a significant problem. Registries from Latin America, Africa, and Asia show that less than 65% of patients receive reperfusion therapy, and widespread treatment delays and a lack of access to optimal therapies lead to preventable deaths and complications. While current guidelines provide a blueprint for care, their implementation in low-resource settings requires specific guidance that considers geographical, logistical, and economic realities.

Background: Evidence regarding cardiovascular adaptation to pregnancy in women with pregestational diabetes is limited. Our study aimed to describe left ventricular (LV) remodelling and vascular adaptation to pregnancy in women with type 1 diabetes.
Methods: In this prospective cohort study, three consecutive cardiac MRI scans were conducted on age-matched and BMI-matched pregnant women with pregestational type 1 diabetes and pregnant women without diabetes.
