Article Abstract

Pyometra is a rare condition involving the accumulation of purulent material within the uterine cavity, typically affecting postmenopausal women. Clinical presentation varies and may be silent, but can include fever, abdominal pain, and vaginal discharge. In this case, we report a 62-year-old woman presenting with prolonged constitutional symptoms and fever, ultimately diagnosed with a large hematopyometra secondary to endometrial adenocarcinoma. This case emphasizes the need to consider gynecological causes in elderly female patients with persistent systemic symptoms.

Endometrial adenocarcinoma frequently metastasizes to distant organs, with the lungs being a common site. Pulmonary metastases typically present as multiple nodules. However, solitary lesions are uncommon and may offer surgical opportunities.

Objective: Advanced or recurrent endometrial carcinoma (EC) represents a significant clinical challenge. This study aimed to evaluate patient (age and comorbidities) and disease (histological subtypes and stages) characteristics, treatment patterns and survival outcomes in a real-world French healthcare setting.

Methods And Analysis: In this national, multi-centre, retrospective observational cohort study, 200 patients with advanced or recurrent EC receiving first- or second-line chemotherapy during the year 2019 were analysed.

Deficiency in genes leads to impediment in DNA repair and is associated with an increased lifetime risk of breast, ovarian, prostate, and pancreatic cancer and melanoma. Lynch syndrome is caused by inherited mutations in genes responsible for DNA mismatch repair, with resultant increase in lifetime risk of colorectal, endometrial, ovarian, stomach, urinary, pancreatic, and CNS malignancies. Here, we present a patient with a rare coexistence of both and mutation in the setting of metastatic pancreatic and prostate cancer.

Fat distribution patterns are increasingly linked to obesity-related cancers; however, their shared genetic determinants remain unclear. To identify shared genetic architecture between adiposity measures and obesity-related cancers. Utilizing large-scale summary statistics from genome-wide association study, we conducted genome-wide cross trait analyses of nine adiposity measures [body mass index (BMI), waist-to-hip (WTH) ratio, waist-to-hip ratio adjusted for BMI, arm fat ratio, trunk fat ratio, leg fat ratio, abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue, gluteofemoral adipose tissue, and visceral adipose tissue] in five obesity-related cancers (colorectal cancer, esophageal adenocarcinoma, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and ovarian cancer) to characterize their shared genetic architecture, biological pathways, and causal relationships.

: Bisphenols (BPs) and especially bisphenol S (BPS), an analog of bisphenol A (BPA), are widely used and induce oxidative stress, resulting in the inhibition of cell proliferation and induction of apoptosis which all are crucial for reproduction, the progression of pregnancy, and fertility. The present study integrates trophoblastic cells as an in vitro model to provide evidence and investigate the molecular interactions regarding placenta-related pregnancy complications after cytotoxic exposure to BPS. : Human endometrial epithelial adenocarcinoma Ishikawa cell lines and trophoblastic cells were cultured.
