Single-element detectors (SEDs) with a room temperature extended short-wave infrared (eSWIR) photoresponse were fabricated with branched nanorods of HgTe. Nanorods with high aspect (length/width) ratios were obtained by using stoichiometric excesses of Hg (i.e., [Hg]/[Te] molar ratios greater than one) and relatively low reaction temperatures, as low as room temperature. The size-tunable optical cutoff wavelengths of the detectors ranged from 2 to 3.5 μm, with specific detectivities as high as 2.4 × 10 Jones. The devices retained their responsivity for more than a year. Branched nanorods of HgTe are promising materials for IR photodetectors and imagers.

We systematically evaluated the DNA adsorption and desorption efficiencies of several nanoparticles. Among them, titanium dioxide (TiO₂) nanoparticles (NPs), aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) NPs, and zinc oxide (ZnO) NPs exhibited strong DNA-binding capacities under mild conditions. However, phosphate-mediated DNA displacement efficiencies varied considerably, with only TiO₂ NPs showing consistently superior performance.

Purpose: This study was designed to analyse the influence of temperature, pH and storage time on unbound fractions of PHT and VPA.
Methods: The influence of ultrafiltration (UF) temperature on measured unbound fractions of PHT and VPA in spiked samples was evaluated in a single laboratory experiment and in data from a national external quality control (EQC) database. The influence of pH adjustment with phosphate buffered saline (PBS) on measured unbound fractions of PHT and VPA was investigated in patient samples.

We have developed a new true triaxial apparatus for rock deformation, featuring six servo-controlled loading rams capable of applying maximum stresses of 220 MPa along the two horizontal axes and 400 MPa along the vertical axis to cubic rock samples of 50 mm side. Samples are introduced into a steel vessel, allowing rock specimens to be subjected to confining pressures of up to 60 MPa. Pore fluid lines connected to two pump intensifiers enable high-precision permeability measurements along all three principal stress directions.

Through high-pressure diamond anvil cell experiments, we report the synthesis of two novel potassium superhydrides (KH-I and KH-II) and investigate their structural and vibrational properties via synchrotron X-ray powder diffraction and Raman spectroscopy, complemented by density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Above 17 GPa at room temperature, KH-II and H react to form KH-I; this reaction can be accelerated with temperature. KH-I possesses a face-centered-cubic () potassium sublattice with a slight rhombohedral distortion (space group 3̅).

Titanium dioxide (TiO) thin films were deposited on glass substrates under HV conditions at room temperature by the physical vapor deposition method. Produced titanium thin films were post-annealed at 573 K at different oxygen flows (0, 9 and 23 cm/s). The influence of different oxygen flows on nano-structure, crystallography, and optical parameters of TiO films was investigated by XRD, AFM, and spectrophotometer in the UV-VIS wavelength range.
