Purpose: To evaluate the impact of an optimized online adaptive radiation therapy workflow on physician involvement.

Methods And Materials: Data from a prospective phase 2 trial involving 34 prostate cancer patients treated with cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)-based online adaptive radiation therapy (62 Gy in 20 fractions) were analyzed. Manual interventions were required for 2 steps in the workflow: radiation therapy technologist review and adjustment of automatically segmented organs, guiding target segmentation, so-called "influencer," while physicians reviewed and refined the targets.

Purpose: Food insecurity (FI) is a social determinant of health and health disparity that leads to increased risk of chronic health conditions. Despite the widespread implementation of FI screening in other settings, the role of the anesthesia team in FI screening is underused, increasing the chance of at-risk individuals not being identified. The anesthesia preoperative interview is an opportunity to identify patients experiencing FI and provide resources to improve outcomes.

Objective: To develop a deep learning method for fast and accurate prediction of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) distributions in the human head to support real-time hyperthermia treatment planning (HTP) of brain cancer patients.

Approach: We propose an encoder-decoder neural network with cross-attention blocks to predict SAR maps from brain electrical properties, tumor 3D isocenter coordinates and microwave antenna phase settings. A dataset of 201 simulations was generated using finite-element modeling by varying tissue properties, tumor positions, and antenna phases within a human head model equipped with a three-ring phased-array applicator.

Significant progress has been made in applying deep learning for the automatic diagnosis of skin lesions. However, most models remain unexplainable, which severely hinders their application in clinical settings. Concept-based ante-hoc interpretable models have the potential to clarify the decision-making process of diagnosis by learning high-level, human-understandable concepts, while they can only provide numerical values of conceptual contributions.
