Mechanical wounding triggers rapid transcriptional and hormonal reprogramming in plants, primarily driven by jasmonate (JA) signalling. While the role of JA, ethylene, and salicylic acid in wound responses is well characterised, the contribution of strigolactones (SLs) remains largely unexplored. Here, for the first time, it was shown that SLs modulate wound-induced transcriptional dynamics in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder marked by cognitive decline and the accumulation of amyloid-β (Aβ) plaques, with current treatments offering only limited efficacy. Targeted photo-oxygenation of Aβ using small-molecule photosensitizers has emerged as a promising strategy to modulate amyloid aggregation and mitigate associated toxicity. In this work, the rational design and synthesis of donor-engineered, benzimidazole-functionalized aggregation-induced emission (AIE) photosensitizer with optimized photophysical and morphological properties for multimodal theranostic applications in AD is analyzed and reported.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune condition that impacts the immune system, especially through changes in the splenic immune cell system. This review provides an overview of the role of splenocytes in T cell signaling and their immune response in RA patients. The spleen acts as a critical site for the activation and differentiation of splenic immune cells like T cells, B cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and NK cells.

Learning when to initiate or withhold actions is essential for survival, requiring the integration of past experiences with new information to adapt to changing environments. The prelimbic cortex (PL) plays a central role in this process, with a stable PL neuronal population (ensemble) recruited during operant reward learning to encode response execution. However, it is unknown how this established reward-learning ensemble adapts to changing reward contingencies, such as reward omission during extinction.

Aims: This study aimed to enhance the osteoinductive potential of mesenchymal stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (MSC-EVs) by integrating them into a nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAp)-enriched hydrogel scaffold for bone regeneration applications.
Materials & Methods: EVs were isolated from naïve and osteogenically primed MSCs and characterized for morphology, cargo content, and cytocompatibility. Their uptake and osteoinductive activity were assessed using MC3T3 cells within a 3D interpenetrating network (IPN) hydrogel.
