This paper presents a semi-analytical method, referred to as the linear-velocity-profile fast field program (LFFP), for predicting two-dimensional sound fields in ambient parallel mean flows. The proposed method incorporates the linear velocity layering method into the fundamental framework of fast field program (FFP) to achieve reduced computational costs and enhanced precision, particularly under high-velocity gradient conditions. The accuracy of LFFP is validated through a two-dimensional jet case by comparison with the linearized Euler equation in frequency-domain.

Background: The use of low-titer O whole blood (LTOWB) is requested in the treatment of major bleeding, initially used in military medicine but now increasingly utilized in civilian prehospital care. The advantage is the administration of a balanced transfusion, red blood cells, coagulation factors, and platelets, in one bag. The challenges are the availability of LTOWB and difficulties in predicting the need in major bleeding, leading to the risk of wastage.

This influences the capacity to accurately project the effects of accelerating sea-level rise on this important carbon store. Here, above-ground biomass and productivity dynamics were quantified across mangrove age zones dominated by , spanning a tidal gradient atop a reef platform at Low Isles, Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

Introduction: Electives are short placements during medical school lasting 2-8 weeks, serving as an opportunity to engage with different healthcare systems and cultures and to travel overseas. However, amid increasing alarm about climate change, interest in the sustainability of electives and alternative elective formats are gaining attention.
Methods: A scoping review of MEDLINE, Embase, ERIC, Web of Science SCOPUS, WHO Globus Index Medicus and Scielo was conducted with double-blind screening to identify previous efforts to quantify carbon costs of electives.

In order to solve the problems of difficult test, high cost and long cycle in the development of large-scale airborne negative pressure isolation system, the simulation analysis of negative pressure response characteristics is carried out around various aviation conditions such as aircraft ascending, leveling and descending, especially rapid decompression, based on the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. The results showed that the isolation cabin could achieve -50 Pa pressure difference environment and form a certain pressure gradient. The exhaust air volume reached the maximum value in the early stage of the aircraft's ascent, and gradually decreased with the increase of altitude until it was level flying.
