Purpose: To examine the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR)-guided imagery relaxation (VRGI) intervention in reducing anxiety among lung cancer surgery patients.
Methods: A randomized clinical trial was conducted at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Hebei Medical University (Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China) to recruit patients scheduled for their first elective endoscopic lung cancer surgery under general anesthesia between December 2023 and March 2024. Patients were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either the control group, receiving routine treatment and staged care in thoracic surgery, or the experimental group, receiving VRGI intervention in addition to the control group's protocol.

Background: Endometriosis diagnosis is challenging due to non-specific symptoms that overlap with other gynaecological conditions. This study proposes a non-invasive Machine Learning (ML) ‒ based urine test using Attenuated Total Reflection Fourier Transform Infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy for rapid, high-throughput screening.

GNE myopathy is an autosomal recessive distal myopathy resulting from biallelic pathogenic variants in the GNE gene, a key enzyme in sialic acid biosynthesis. Although most pathogenic variants are missense variants, recent advances have enabled the identification of copy number variations, deep intronic variants, and regulatory changes in the promoter region, significantly enhancing diagnostic accuracy. Progress in genetic diagnostics now allows detection of rare and complex variants.

Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors have been proposed as caloric restriction mimetics with potential anti-aging effects. However, clinical data on their influence on aging biomarkers are limited. In this multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 150 participants with type 2 diabetes are randomized (1:1) to receive oral henagliflozin (10 mg/day) or placebo for 26 weeks.
