It is well-established that early treatment with chondroitinase ABC (ChABC) improves functional recovery in preclinical models of spinal cord injury (SCI). To increase the potential for clinical translation, research is now focused on optimizing treatment conditions and enhancing the enzymatic stability of ChABC formulations. The current study tested the in vivo efficacy of a novel formulation of ChABC, Src homology-3 (SH3)-ChABC-37, that has 37 mutations and is delivered by affinity release from a crosslinked methylcellulose (xMC) modified with SH3-binding peptides (bp).

The impact of metabolic disturbances induced by an unbalanced diet on cognitive decline in mid-life is now widely observed, although the mechanisms are not well identified. Here we report that glutamatergic vasoactive pathways are a key feature of high-fat-diet (HFD)-induced neurogliovascular uncoupling in mice. C57Bl6/J mice are fed either with normal diet (ND) or high-fat diet (HFD) during 6 or 12 months and characterized for metabolic status.

Background: The safety of intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients with underlying unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) is unclear. This study evaluates IVT safety and efficacy in AIS patients with UIAs in routine clinical practice.
Methods: Using the 2016-2022 Nationwide Readmissions Database, we conducted a retrospective cohort study of AIS patients with National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores ≥ 6.

Oxidative stress and neuronal apoptosis could be an important factor leading to post-hemorrhagic consequences after germinal matrix hemorrhage (GMH). Previously study have indicated that relaxin 2 receptor activation initiates anti-oxidative stress and anti-apoptosis in ischemia-reperfusion injury. However, whether relaxin 2 activation can attenuate oxidative stress and neuronal apoptosis after GMH remains unknown.
