Introduction: Voucher-based food as medicine programs have become a common method to help reduce the burden of chronic disease. While recent studies find these programs reduce HbA1c, few of these studies included a comparison group.

Objective: This article evaluates the impact of a clinically based voucher program on HbA1c of diabetic patients.

Simultaneous determination of Sr and Pu isotopes in marine biological samples.

Anal Chim Acta

November 2025

State Key Laboratory of Loess Science, Shaanxi Key Laboratory of AMS Technology and Application, Xi'an AMS Center, Institute of Earth Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xi'an, 710061, China. Electronic address:

Pu and Sr are highly important radionuclides in the environment, which can accumulate in the human body through the food chain and cause radiation exposure. With the continuous discharge of treated nuclear contamination water from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, it is crucial to investigate and monitor the levels of Pu and Sr in seafood. However, it is still a challenge to determine Pu and Sr in seafood at environmental levels, owing to their extremely low concentrations, labor-intensive and time-consuming pre-treatment for large-sized samples.

Innovative UAPLE system coupled with UV-vis detection: a sustainable method for extracting and quantifying phenolics from rosemary.

Anal Chim Acta

November 2025

Multidisciplinary Laboratory of Food and Health (LabMAS), School of Applied Sciences (FCA), Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Rua Pedro Zaccaria 1300, Limeira, 13484-350, São Paulo, Brazil. Electronic address:

Background: Monitoring industrial processes is critical for ensuring consistent product quality, as consumers expect uniformity across different production batches. In the case of herbal extracts, such as rosemary hydroalcoholic extracts, it is essential to control the yield of target compounds to maintain both the expected quality and safety. Typically, these extracts are produced in an extractor and then analyzed separately in a laboratory (offline).

Impact of airborne litterfall on radiocesium redistribution in areas adjacent to forests.

J Environ Radioact

September 2025

Forestry Solutions Technical Department, Asia Air Survey Co., Ltd., Kawasaki-City, Kanagawa, Japan.

Following the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident, radiocesium (Cs) was deposited across forested areas. While internal cycling is well known, lateral transfer via litterfall remains unclear. This study quantified Cs dispersal from Japanese cedar and deciduous broad-leaved forests using collectors set up to 20 m beyond the forest edge.

Chocolates and other cocoa products represent a multibillion-dollar industry that has faced significant price increases, largely due to a surge in cocoa plant diseases linked to climate change. One potential solution for mitigating cocoa prices involves the use of cocoa butter equivalents, substitutes, or replacers. Consequently, a rapid method for simultaneously determining multiple properties of cocoa derivatives can serve as a valuable tool for research and development of new products, quality control, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with cocoa product standards.
