Osteoarthritis (OA) is a painful joint condition primarily caused by cartilage degradation, leading to pain and reduced mobility. Given the side effects of current treatments, this study investigates Osteo-F, a novel herbal-based functional ingredient formulated with , , and , traditionally valued for their bioactive and health-promoting properties. Network pharmacology analysis identified significant interactions involving Osteo-F within the TNF signaling pathway, highlighting its role in modulating key inflammatory processes in OA. In vivo experiments using a monosodium iodoacetate-induced OA rat model demonstrated significant improvements in arthritis scores, bone mineral content, and bone mineral density, alongside preservation of cartilage integrity, as confirmed by histological analyses. In vitro studies further revealed that this formulation reduced the activation of JNK and NF-κB pathways, decreasing inflammatory cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases critical in cartilage breakdown. These findings underscore the potential of Osteo-F as a functional food candidate to reduce inflammation and support cartilage preservation in OA. Future clinical trials are required to validate these findings and explore its dietary integration in OA management.

Aims/hypothesis: Unimolecular peptides targeting the receptors for glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon (GCG) have been shown to improve glycaemic management in both mice and humans. Yet the identity of the downstream signalling events mediated by these peptides remain to be elucidated. Here, we aimed to assess the mechanisms by which a validated peptide triagonist for GLP-1/GIP/GCG receptors (IUB447) stimulates insulin secretion in murine pancreatic islets.

Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric disorder characterized by positive, negative, and general psychopathological symptoms. While antipsychotic drugs are effective for positive symptoms, they provide limited benefit for negative symptoms, which are often persistent and strongly associated with functional disability. Additionally, up to 30% of patients exhibit resistance to current treatments, including clozapine.

Comprehensive interrogation of multiple disease-specific databases facilitated the identification of crucial SLE-associated molecular targets and hub genes, with MAPK1, MAPK3, TP53, JUN, and JAK2 demonstrating the highest degree of network centrality. Subsequent molecular docking simulations and binding affinity assessments revealed compounds with exceptional complementarity to these pivotal molecular targets, establishing as a pharmacologically promising botanical source and glycyrrhizin as its principal bioactive constituent meriting comprehensive mechanistic investigation.

: Postmenopausal conditions can lead to metabolic disorders such as obesity and steatosis. (PT), a prominent traditional Chinese medicine, exerts potential therapeutic effects against hepatic injury. Nevertheless, the extent to which PT ameliorates liver damage resulting from estrogen deficiency, along with the associated mechanisms, remains poorly understood.

(GR) is primarily produced in Laiyang and Chifeng. It is a functional food with therapeutic and health-promoting effects due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However, the current standards only stipulate authentication criteria, without establishing a comprehensive evaluation framework to systematically enhance the quality control of GR.
