Plant elicitors with distinctive benefits including low toxicity, small application dosages and an innovative mode of action are considered as green agrochemicals by stimulating the host plant immunity. Several new plant elicitors have been developed for tobacco protection against virus attack. Among them, as a milestone in Chinese plant elicitor development, methiadinil (IUPAC: 4-methyl-N-(5-methylthiazol-2-yl)-1,2,3-thiadiazole-5-carboxamide) shows broad application prospects. Because of its low application dosage, its residue determination requires diverse highly sensitive method. Here we developed an indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method for methiadinil residue determination with the lowest detection limit of 10.69 ng/mL and a linear detection range between 21.84 ng/mL of IC and 1513.81 ng/mL of IC by a rational hapten designation. Meanwhile, this indirect ELISA method showed good specificity with low cross-reactivity for methiadinil analogue determination and a good correlation with the HPLC method for tobacco sample measurement. This sensitive, rapid and accurate methiadinil residue determination method in tobacco leaves is of great significance for the monitoring of methiadinil in tobacco and guidance for other environmental sample determination and the rational application of methiadinil.

Awake craniotomy is the gold standard to achieve maximal safe resection of brain lesions located within eloquent areas. There are no established guidelines to assess patient's eligibility for awake craniotomy by weight class. This study assesses feasibility, safety, and efficacy of awake surgery by weight classes through an observational, retrospective, single-institution cohort analysis (2010-2024) of 526 awake craniotomies.

This study investigates how hydrophobic and hydrophilic modifications at the C-terminus of the base peptide, KFEFEFKFK (KbpK), affect the hydrogel macroscopic properties. By the incorporation of phenylalanine (F, hydrophobic) and lysine (K, hydrophilic) residues, four variants, KbpK-K, KbpK-F, KbpK-KF, and KbpK-FK, were designed and evaluated. pH-concentration phase diagrams and Fourier transform infrared confirmed clear links showing how peptide hydrophobicity and charge influence β-sheet formation and macroscopic phase behavior.

Egg white peptides (EWPs) face significant flavor challenges due to bitterness, limiting their high-value applications. This study prepared egg white glycopeptides (EWGP) through transglutaminase-catalyzed glycosylation to investigate their flavor enhancement effect. Egg white protein was hydrolyzed by neutral protease and covalently bound to glucosamine under the mediation of transglutaminase to obtain EWGP.

The objective of the research was to employ extrusion to increase the yield of simulated gastrointestinal digestion of protein corn gluten meal (CG). A single-screw extruder and a full factorial design with two center points were used. The optimal extrusion parameters were 40 % sample moisture, 140 °C and 54 rpm, resulting in a gastrointestinal digestion yield of 37.
