Article Abstract

Introduction: Rose species that are well-known for their therapeutic qualities include , and . The study employs assays and molecular docking to investigate their phytochemical composition and antioxidant properties.

Methods: Phytochemicals were detected in flower petals of , and that had been extracted using methanol. Ascorbic acid was utilised as the standard reference for assessing antioxidant activity and its hydrogen peroxide scavenging potential. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) interactions with berberine, emodin, and limonene were assessed by molecular docking using PyRx software.

Results: Various beneficial substances were found in all species according to phytochemical investigation. Among the three Rosa species, demonstrated the highest antioxidant activity, followed by and . Docking studies demonstrated that berberine and emodin had substantial binding affinity with SOD. The extracts showed strong antioxidant properties, suggesting that they could be used as naturally occurring antioxidants.

Conclusions: , and show promise as medicinal plants and have strong antioxidant properties. The results validate the development of these rose species as naturally occurring antioxidants for the treatment of ailments related with oxidative stress.

Donor-acceptor-donor (D-A-D) thiophene-based compounds, characterized by thiophene as a donor unit and benzothiadiazole (Bz) as an acceptor, represent an emerging class of theranostic agents for imaging and photodynamic therapy. Here, we expand this class of molecules by strategically varying the position of the electron-accepting unit within the oligothiophene (OT) backbone structure, realizing a series of different push-pull architectures (A-D, D-A-D, and D-A). This rational design allows for precise modulation of key photophysical parameters, including absorption and emission spectra, molar absorption coefficient, charge separation, and frontier molecular orbitals.

This study evaluated the richness and abundance of ticks collected during two years in forest fragments of the state of Acre, western Brazilian Amazon. Considering all the environmental and host collections, the following 15 tick species were collected: Amblyomma coelebs, Amblyomma crassum, Amblyomma humerale, Amblyomma latepunctatum, Amblyomma longirostre, Amblyomma naponense, Amblyomma nodosum, Amblyomma oblongoguttatum, Amblyomma ovale, Amblyomma pacae, Amblyomma rotundatum, Amblyomma scalpturatum, Haemaphysalis juxtakochi, Ixodes luciae and Rhipicephalus microplus. Data from the most two abundant tick species, A.

The low dose dexamethasone stimulation test (LDDST) is routinely used in canine medicine but in the few cases in guinea pigs diagnosed with hypercortisolism, the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) stimulation test was used. The objective of the authors was to conduct a pilot study and find out if the standard test used in dogs can be used in this species.A 4-year-old intact female hairless guinea pig showed bilaterally enlarged adrenal glands and high cortisol levels.

In this work, carbon nanodots (CNDs) were synthesized via a pyrolysis carbonization method using petals. The synthesized CNDs exhibit optical absorption in the UV region, with a tail extending out into the visible range. When these CNDs interact with Ho ions through charge transfer processes, they form an RE-CNDs hybrid (Rare Earth-CNDs hybrid), resulting in fluorescence quenching in an aqueous solution.

Background: Classification of rose species and verities is a challenging task. Rose is used worldwide for various applications, including but not restricted to skincare, medicine, cosmetics, and fragrance. This study explores the potential of Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS) for species and variety classification of rose flowers, leveraging its advantages such as minimal sample preparation, real-time analysis, and remote sensing.
