We present a numerical analysis of local community assembly through weak migration from a regional species pool. At equilibrium, the local community consists of a subset ("clique") of species from the regional community. Our analysis, based on numerical integration of the generalized Lotka-Volterra equations, reveals that the interaction networks of these cliques exhibit nontrivial architectures. Specifically, we demonstrate a pronounced nested structure of the clique interaction matrix in the case of symmetric interactions and a hyperuniform structure seen in asymmetric communities. For a local community to be stable, its composition must meet two requirements: first, it must be feasible on its own, such that internal competition does not lead to species extinction. Second, it must be resistant against invasion by species from the regional community. We show that the nestedness property, although it slightly compromises feasibility, is essential to ensure noninvadability and, thus, characterizes communities with symmetric interactions. In the case of asymmetric interactions, achieving a nested structure is challenging; therefore, the local community at any given moment is hyperuniform, ensuring feasibility but making it invasion-prone. As a result, the dynamics of systems with strong asymmetric interactions is unstable.

This article addresses the fixed-time leaderless cluster synchronization of spatiotemporal community networks (SCNs) characterized by nonidentical node dynamics and reaction-diffusion feature. First, a signed SCN with reaction-diffusion effect is formulated, where the sign-based coupling is introduced to capture the dynamics of coopetition interactions among different communities. Second, to ensure the invariance of the synchronous manifold, an improved interdegree balance condition is proposed as a prerequisite for achieving cluster synchronization of the community network.

Background And Objectives: Explore whether community social capital measures (system of resources available to individuals through community engagement) are related to surgical outcomes among intracranial tumor patients.
Methods: Adults who underwent resection at a single medical center for intracranial tumor was identified and their zip codes were matched to three variables derived from the Social Capital Atlas: economic connectedness, volunteering rate, and civic organizations. The economic connectedness score quantifies the degree to which low-income and high-income community members are friends with each other, the volunteering rate is defined as the proportion of a given community engaged in community organizations and the civic organization score is defined as the number of local civic organizations within a given community.

Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) remains a leading cause of mortality and long-term disability globally, with survivors at high risk of recurrent stroke, cardiovascular events, and post-stroke dementia. Statins, while widely used for their lipid-lowering effects, also possess pleiotropic properties, including anti-inflammatory, endothelial-stabilizing, and neuroprotective actions, which may offer added benefit in AIS management. This article synthesizes emerging evidence on statins' dual mechanisms of action and evaluates their role in reducing recurrence, improving survival, and mitigating cognitive decline.
