Article Abstract

The link between neurological diseases and fractures is recognized in literature. However, the fact that spontaneous fractures or fractures without obvious trauma may be the first sign of an underlying neurological disease, such as inaugural nocturnal epileptic seizures or abnormal movement disorders during sleep, is much less so. Through some clinical vignettes and a review of published cases, this article would like to raise awareness among the medical profession of this issue, which incidence is probably underestimated.

We undertook a longitudinal qualitative study of the introduction, embedding, evolution and abandonment of remote and digital innovations in United Kingdom general practice. This synoptic paper summarises study design, methods, key findings, outputs and impacts to date.

Insect silk is a naturally occurring protein that forms semicrystalline threads when exposed to air. The Asian weaver ant, Oecophylla smaragdina (Formicidae: Hymenoptera), frequently uses silks for leaf weaving in nest construction to maintain its integrity and durability. The silk imparts resilience and durability to the nests, preventing fracturing or breaking during many natural disasters, particularly heavy rainfall and strong winds.
