The link between neurological diseases and fractures is recognized in literature. However, the fact that spontaneous fractures or fractures without obvious trauma may be the first sign of an underlying neurological disease, such as inaugural nocturnal epileptic seizures or abnormal movement disorders during sleep, is much less so. Through some clinical vignettes and a review of published cases, this article would like to raise awareness among the medical profession of this issue, which incidence is probably underestimated.
