Article Abstract

Unlabelled: Matsumura is an important medicinal species in traditional Korean medicine, commonly employed for addressing a range of health issues. The fruit of is abundant in anthocyanins, which possess strong antioxidant activity and effectively neutralize free radicals. In the present investigation, to optimize the extraction parameters for anthocyanins obtained from the fruit of , response surface methodology was employed. Extraction time, ethanol concentration, and extraction temperature were carefully examined as key parameters to determine their influence on the yield and efficiency of anthocyanin extraction. Ultrasonic-assisted extraction extracted in this way showed higher antioxidant activity than conventional extract. In addition, the anti-inflammatory activity of UAE was confirmed, and changes in nitric oxide, inducible nitric oxide synthase, tumor necrosis factor alpha, and Interleukin-1 beta were observed. In conclusion, the extraction method of anthocyanins from was optimized, and UAE extracted in this way had high antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.

This study explores the extraction of polysaccharides from Nostoc commune Vauch. using ultrasonic-assisted three-phase partitioning with deep eutectic solvents (UA-TPP-DES). Response surface methodology was used to determine the optimized UA-TPP-DES conditions as follows: a 1: 2 M ratio of lauric acid to terpineol, 30 min of ultrasonication at 60 °C with 100 W power, 20 % moisture content, 20 % w/w (NH)SO concentration, and a 2: 1 top-to-bottom phase volume ratio.

Addressing the issues of slow decomposition and low nutrient release efficiency associated with traditional straw returning, this study innovatively applied ultrasound-assisted centrifugal separation technology to prepare submicron/nano-straw particles and systematically conducted a multi-scale investigation from microscopic to macroscopic levels. The core finding reveals that when the particle size reaches the 1 μm threshold, ultrasonic cavitation vigorously disrupts the straw structure, leading to efficient lignin removal (77.45 %) and a significant reduction in cellulose crystallinity, thereby fundamentally enhancing the degradation rate.

The increasing universal demand for eco-friendly and value-added proteins requires novel and environmental friendly extraction methods. Deep eutectic solvents (DES) are gaining recognition as a promising class of green solvents because of their biodegradable nature, low toxicity, and tuneable physicochemical features. This review critically investigates the advances in DES as an environmental friendly substitute for protein extraction from various biomass sources, including plant, animal, microbial, and algal origins.

In this study, extraction conditions were optimized to maximize the biological activities of extracts obtained from , an edible mushroom species. Extraction processes were carried out using an ultrasonically assisted system, and two different optimization approaches were used as follows: Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Artificial Neural Network-Genetic Algorithm (ANN-GA). The antioxidant potentials of the optimized extracts were evaluated using DPPH, FRAP, TAS, TOS, and OSI parameters; anticholinesterase activities were measured against AChE and BChE enzymes; and antiproliferative activities were investigated in A549, MCF-7, and DU-145 human cancer cell lines.

Background: Saudi coffee, made from Khawlani beans, is known for its sweeter, less acidic flavor and rich content of bioactive compounds. However, traditional preparation methods are time consuming and inefficient in extracting these compounds, limiting their global appeal. This study introduces an ultrasonic-assisted nanoparticle preparation technique to enhance the extraction efficiency, chemical profile, and sensory quality of Saudi coffee.
