Article Abstract

infection, the third most prevalent gastrointestinal infection in Europe, poses a diagnostic challenge due to its resemblance to other common conditions such as acute appendicitis, Crohn's disease, and malignancy. We report the case of a 48-year-old female patient who sought medical attention for abdominal pain and diarrhoea. Her endoscopic examination revealed a cobblestone pattern affecting the entire colon, more pronounced in the right colon, but with normal mucosa in the terminal ileum. This unique presentation created a challenge in distinguishing Yersiniosis from Crohn's disease. This case report aimed to highlight this atypical endoscopic manifestation of infection. We underline the subacute nature of the symptoms, which can last up to 4-6 weeks. This reinforces the importance of considering infection as a diagnostic possibility, even when the endoscopic appearance closely resembles other chronic intestinal diseases.

Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) is an innovative and noninvasive imaging technique that combines the advantages of reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Previously used for the diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinomas, recent studies also show promising results in its application in melanocytic tumors. While in LC-OCT benign nevi exhibit a regular epidermal architecture with a honeycomb and cobblestone pattern as well as clearly defined dermoepidermal junctions (DEJ), melanomas, in contrast, exhibit an irregular cellular architecture with pagetoid ascending cells, destruction of the DEJ, and clefting.

Spatial proteomics reveals distinct protein patterns in cortical migration disorders caused by LIN28A overexpression and WNT activation.

Developmental signalling pathways act in stage and tissue dependent relation and mis-activation can drive tumour formation. The RNA-binding protein LIN28A binds to mRNA and miRNA and thereby affects the protein turnover and maintains stemness. LIN28A is overexpressed in embryonal brain tumours which show low correlation between transcriptome and proteome signatures.

Background: Studies have found that few lesions clinically diagnosed as seborrheic keratosis (SK) revealed Cutaneous melanoma (CM) on histopathology. When CM mimics SK, they are defined as seborrheic keratosis-like melanoma (SKLM), and a delayed diagnosis and treatment can occur.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective descriptive, monocentric study of the epidemiological, clinical, videodermoscopy (VDS), and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) characteristics of histopathologically proven SKLM diagnosed between 2018 and 2024.

Biological systems can adaptively navigate multi-terrain environments via morphological and behavioral flexibility. While robotic systems increasingly achieve locomotion versatility in one or two domains, integrating terrestrial, aquatic, and aerial mobility into a single platform remains an engineering challenge. This work tackles this by introducing a bipedal robot equipped with a reconfigurable locomotion framework, enabling seven adaptive policies: (1) thrust-assisted jumping, (2) legged crawling, (3) balanced wheeling, (4) tricycle wheeling, (5) paddling-based swimming, (6) air-propelled drifting, and (7) quadcopter flight.

Background: Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disorder with frequent respiratory system involvement, yet comprehensive data on airway abnormalities remain limited. This study aims to assess the prevalence and characteristics of airway involvement in pulmonary sarcoidosis and its correlation with clinical and radiological features.

Methods: A retrospective, single-center study was conducted at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, including 842 patients diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis between March 2013 and September 2023.
