Article Abstract

is a predominant pathogen that infects fish. The pathogen subsp. (ASM) was isolated for the first time from diseased starry flounders (). Our study aimed to isolate, characterize, and investigate the pathogenicity of ASM. Bacterial species were identified using , , , and analyses. Phylogenetic tree analysis revealed that the ASM strains were clustered with the ASM ATCC strain and other strains isolated from black rockfish. In the antimicrobial susceptibility test, the three ASM strains were considered non-wild types for enrofloxacin, florfenicol, flumequine, oxolinic acid, and oxytetracycline susceptibility. Histopathological analysis revealed bacterial colonies in the secondary lamella and heart, indicating that ASM strains are highly virulent in fish. Comparative analysis and annotation via genome sequencing revealed that, among the 1156 factors, adherence factors were the most prevalent putative virulence determinants, followed by the effector delivery system and adherence. ASM was found to possess 43 type III secretion systems, 22 type VI secretion systems, 11 antimicrobial resistance genes, 3 stress genes, and prophage regions. These findings provide new insights into the virulence profile of ASM and highlight the risk posed by emerging pathogenic strains to starry flounders.

A computational study at the M06-2X-D3/def2-TZVP level elucidates the [2 + 2] cycloaddition between phenylacetylene and G15-Rea ((L: → G15G15 ← :L)), featuring a doubly bonded G15G15 moiety (G15 = a group 15 element) and highlighting an electron-sharing interaction between two triplet G15 fragments. Among the systems examined, only dipnictogen dications containing SbSb and BiBi double bonds readily undergo [2 + 2] cycloaddition with phenylacetylene. Energy decomposition analysis-natural orbitals for chemical valence (EDA-NOCV) and frontier molecular orbital (FMO) analyses reveal that the key bonding interaction in the reaction involves electron donation from the filled p-π orbital of PhCCH into the vacant p-π* orbital of G15-Rea, while the reverse electron transfer is only marginal.

From Delocalization to Disruption: The Role of Aromaticity in -Heterocyclic Carbenes' Reactions with Diazoalkane and Diazoester.

Aromaticity is a fundamental force shaping molecular stability and reactivity, yet its dynamic role along reaction coordinates remains poorly understood. In this study, we unveil how dynamic changes in aromatic character govern the reactivity of 5-ItBu with diazoalkanes and diazoesters through a multifaceted computational approach. By integrating electronic, magnetic, structural, and energetic aromaticity descriptors, we demonstrate that the retention of aromaticity along the reaction path markedly lowers activation barriers, while its disruption imposes significant energetic penalties.

Transition-state aromaticity and its relationship with reactivity in pericyclic reactions.

Beilstein J Org Chem

The influence of transition-state aromaticity on the barrier heights of concerted pericyclic reactions is summarized herein. To this end, selected representative examples ranging from fundamental processes such as Diels-Alder or Alder-ene reactions to double-group transfer reactions or 1,3-dipolar cycloadditions involving metal complexes are presented. It is found that while more synchronous processes tend to exhibit greater aromatic character in their transition states, this increased aromaticity does not necessarily correlate with lower activation barriers.

What we believe to be a novel wavelength shift demodulation method for optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR), i.e., adaptive spectrum method (ASM), was proposed and demonstrated to achieve high-spatial-resolution two-dimensional (2D) shape sensing with a narrow sweep range.

Unlabelled: Emerging research suggests that diet plays a vital role in shaping the composition and function of the gut microbiota. Although substantial efforts have been made to identify general patterns linking diet to the gut microbiome, much of this research has been concentrated on a small number of countries. Additionally, both diet and the gut microbiome have highly complex and individualized configurations, and there is growing evidence that tailoring diets to individual gut microbiota profiles may optimize the path toward improving or maintaining health and preventing disease.
