In response to the practical demands for stable coal supply and safety assurance, the risk assessment indicators and the system are determined by analyzing the origins and driving factors of supply chain risks in this paper. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE) are employed to establish a risk assessment model and conduct a comprehensive risk assessment of the coal supply chain. Then, using the coal supply in X province as an example, a risk assessment of the coal supply chain was conducted, resulting in a risk level classified as "moderate". The overall risk level of the supply chain is relatively safe, however, improvement measures need to be formulated to reduce risks. The results indicate that the combination of the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is effective and applicable.
