Introduction: The objective of the World Health Organization is to achieve the interruption of human African trypanosomiasis (HAT) transmission by 2030.
Methods: This review aims to update knowledge on HAT, through a synthesis on the epidemiology, diagnostic tools and drugs of HAT.
Results: From 1960 to 2024 approximately 132,063 cases of HAT have been reported across Africa.

Large, complex wounds frequently exhibit suboptimal healing, leading to scarring and functional impairment. While bioactive materials and electrical stimulation (ES) show promise, their individual limitations call for novel approaches. This study investigates the combined effects of combining 4-aminopyridine (4AP) and electrical stimulation (ES) on human dermal fibroblasts (hDFBs) using a stable, ionically conductive (IC) chitosan-based scaffold for controlled drug delivery.

Interest in trauma-informed approaches in schools is high throughout the US, UK, Australia, Canada and other countries, but the empirical evidence on whole-school responses to trauma is limited. This conceptual and theoretical review explores relevant literature; outlines existing conceptual models for trauma-informed organisations, including schools; reviews current evidence for individual components of conceptual models relevant to schools; and considers implications for future research, practice and policy. Four common components were identified in the literature: (a) understanding trauma and making a universal commitment to address it; (b) emphasising physical, emotional and psychological safety for all school members; (c) taking a strengths-based, whole-person approach toward staff, students and families; and (d) creating and sustaining trusting, collaborative and empowering relationships among all school constituents.

Background: The integration of visual art in healthcare settings has been demonstrated to contribute to well-being. However, the impact of visual arts in healthcare has been primarily evaluated among patients. Viewing visual art could be a health resource to a greater number of people in healthcare settings, including patients, staff, and visitors.

Nanotechnologies bring a rapid paradigm shift in hard and soft bone tissue regeneration (BTR) through unprecedented control over the nanoscale structures and chemistry of biocompatible materials to regenerate the intricate architecture and functional adaptability of bone. This review focuses on the transformative analyses and prospects of current and next-generation nanomaterials in designing bioactive bone scaffolds, emphasizing hierarchical architecture, mechanical resilience, and regenerative precision. Mainly, this review elucidated the innovative findings, new capabilities, unmet challenges, and possible future opportunities associated with biocompatible inorganic ceramics (e.
