Pulmonary hypertension is common in children with Trisomy 21, frequently with multifactorial aetiologies. Registry data provide better understanding of disease development, diagnostic workup and treatment patterns in children with Trisomy 21. TOPP (Tracking Outcomes and Practice in Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension) is a centre-based, comprehensive registry.

Background And Objective: Aminophylline may play a role in managing both stable and exacerbating COPD, but its use is controversial due to its narrow therapeutic window. We aimed to evaluate the role of aminophylline in acute exacerbations of COPD under monitored conditions in patients who remained acidotic and hypercapnic after 48 hours of maximal treatment.
Methods: We conducted a prospective, nonrandomized cohort study with 30 patients receiving aminophylline infusion in addition to standard care, matched to 20 historical controls.

Post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC or "long COVID") and chronic fatigue syndrome/myalgic encephalitis (CFS/ME) share symptoms such as exertional dyspnea. We used exercise oxygen pathway analysis, comprising six parameters of oxygen transport and utilization, to identify limiting mechanisms in both conditions. Invasive cardiopulmonary exercise testing was performed on 15 PASC patients, 11 CFS/ME patients, and 11 controls.

Deferral of non-emergency cardiac interventions is associated with worse clinical outcomes, even post-procedurally. Affected patients show signs of congestive heart failure (CHF) after the waiting time. To identify predictors of CHF with clinical progress during prolonged waiting time, and assess the impact of CHF on the actual intervention date and of the identified baseline predictors in case of deferral on subsequent outcomes.

Objective: This paper aims to assess the impact of bisoprolol combined with torasemide on cardiac electrophysiological parameters in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients complicated by heart failure (HF).
Methods: A total of 140 AMI-HF patients were randomized to either the control group (bisoprolol alone for 3 months, n = 70) or an experimental group (bisoprolol for 3 months plus torasemide for 2 weeks, n = 70). The corrected QT (QTc) interval, QT dispersion, B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), serum creatinine, serum potassium, New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification, Borg dyspnea score, lower-limb edema resolution, systolic/diastolic blood pressure (SBP/DBP), heart rate (HR), incidence of ventricular arrhythmia (VA) and atrial flutter/fibrillation (AFL/AF), and cardiovascular and all-cause mortality were evaluated.
