Exosomes have emerged as promising therapeutic agents in regenerative medicine. This review introduces a novel cell type-oriented perspective to systematically analyze exosomal properties in regenerative therapies. To our knowledge, this review is the first to comprehensively compare exosomes based on cellular source type, offering unprecedented insights into selecting optimal exosome producers for targeted regenerative applications. Factors beyond cellular origin influencing exosomal therapeutic efficacy, such as donor sites and collection methods, are also explored here. By synthesizing key advances, we propose promising research directions in the end. We aim to accelerate the development of more effective exosome-based regenerative therapies and highlight underexplored directions in this rapidly evolving field.

Peripheral sensory neurons regenerate their axons after injury to regain function, but this ability declines with age. The mechanisms behind this decline are not fully understood. While excessive production of endothelin 1 (ET-1), a potent vasoconstrictor, is linked to many diseases that increase with age, the role of ET-1 and its receptors in axon regeneration is unknown.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) and vascular dementia (VaD) have distinct pathognomonic features, but they frequently co-occur as mixed dementia (MD) in elderly adults. This study aimed to develop a novel MD mouse model using bilateral carotid artery stenosis (BCAS) in 5 times familial Alzheimer's disease (5xFAD) transgenic mice and characterize its behavioral and histological features.
Methods: Thirteen C57BL/6 and sixteen 5xFAD transgenic mice were prepared.

Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a major cause of low back pain (LBP), significantly affecting on global disability and healthcare costs. Traditional treatments primarily focus on symptom management rather than addressing the underlying causes, such as the decline in nucleus pulposus (NP) cells and reduced extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis. Cell therapy shows promise by replenishing NP cells, activating resident cells, and enhancing ECM deposition.

Purpose: This European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA) formal consensus aims to provide evidence- and expert opinion-based recommendations for the use of point-of-care- and expanded-cell-based therapy (CBT) in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (OA), focusing on indications, preparation, and administration.
Methods: A multidisciplinary group of 77 leading experts in musculoskeletal regenerative medicine from 22 European Countries formed a steering group, a rating group, and a reader group. The steering group developed 23 questions, originating from 27 statements.

In response, novel therapies, especially tissue engineering and stem cell treatments, have been devised to restore tissue architecture and maximum functionality.
