Introduction: The impact of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) on colonoscopy bowel preparation is unclear.
Methods: We searched multiple databases for studies comparing bowel preparation quality between GLP-1RA users and the control group. Using a random-effects model, we calculated pooled odds ratios and mean differences with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Inadequate bowel preparation (IBP) rate was the primary outcome, and Boston Bowel Preparation Scale mean score was the secondary outcome.
Results: Five studies with 10,833 patients (n = 5,434 GLP-1RAs vs n = 5,399 control) were included. The IBP rate was higher in the GLP-1RAs group compared with the control group (odds ratios 2.10, 95% CI 1.41-3.13, P = 0.0003). Furthermore, the mean Boston Bowel Preparation Scale score was lower in the GLP1-RAs group compared with the control group (mean differences -0.34; 95% CI -0.51, -0.17; P = 0.0001).
Discussion: Our findings suggest that using GLP-1RA increases the risk of IBP.

The gut microbiota of piglets is crucial for intestinal health and immune function, yet highly susceptible to various factors. Multiple factors such as Genetic and Sow Factors, feeding environment, diet and pathogen combine to shape the gut microbiota of piglets. PEDV, a highly pathogenic and transmissible virus, disrupts the gut microbiota by damaging the intestinal epithelial barrier, leading to microbial imbalance, weakened gut immunity, and severe diarrhea.

Objectives: Computer-aided detection (CADe) systems improve adenoma detection during colonoscopy, but the influence of bowel preparation quality on CADe performance is unclear. This study assessed whether different levels of adequate bowel preparation affect CADe effectiveness.
Methods: A post-hoc pooled analysis was conducted using individual patient data from three randomized controlled trials comparing CADe-assisted colonoscopy to standard colonoscopy (SC).

This study comprehensively evaluated the antimicrobial efficacy and mechanisms of ε-polylysine (ε-PL) against Yersinia enterocolitica (Y. enterocolitica) contamination in pre-prepared meat products. Surveillance data from retail pork and beef samples collected in Xi'an, China (May 2024 to April 2025) revealed a 50.

This study aimed to assess the impact of yeast beta-1,3/1,6-glucans (BG) on apparent digestibility coefficients (ADC) of nutrients, intestinal fermentative metabolites, fecal microbiota profile, and immune and antioxidant variables in puppies before and after surgical challenge. Two treatments were evaluated: control, without, and test, with oral supplementation of 65 mg/kg body weight/day of purified BG from Saccharomyces cerevisiae for 120 days. For this, 16 growing Beagle dogs were distributed in a completely randomized design (n = 8/treatment).

Background: Mucosal healing (MH) is a key treatment goal in Crohn's disease (CD). However, evidence on pan-enteric MH (PE-MH) in CD patients treated with vedolizumab remains limited. We aimed to assess vedolizumab efficacy in achieving PE-MH using PillCam Crohn's capsule.
