A subset of rectal cancer (RC), <5%, exhibits mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR); the remaining are classified as proficient (pMMR). Reported evidence on differences between dMMR and pMMR RC is limited. In this nationwide Dutch study, we compared patients with dMMR and pMMR stage II/III RC based on patient and tumor characteristics, treatment patterns, and associated outcomes.

Objective: To investigate the anticancer effects and underlying mechanisms of 8-nitrotryptanthrin (8-Nitrotryp) against colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: The effects of 8-Nitrotryp on proliferation, colony formation, and migration were evaluated in HCT116 and SW480 cells, with comparisons to its parent compound tryptanthrin (Tryp). Mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) was assessed using JC-1 staining, and early apoptosis was analyzed by flow cytometry.

Spatial similarity of functional connectivity profiles across matching anatomical locations in individuals is often calculated to delineate individual differences in functional networks. Likewise, spatial similarity is assessed across average functional connectivity profiles of groups to evaluate the maturity of functional networks during development. Despite its widespread use, spatial similarity is limited to comparing two samples at a time.
