Clinical trials of the photovoltaic subretinal prosthesis PRIMA demonstrated feasibility of prosthetic central vision with resolution matching its 100 μm pixel width. To improve prosthetic acuity further, pixel size should be decreased. However, there are multiple challenges, one of which is related to accommodating a compact shunt resistor within each pixel that discharges the electrodes between stimulation pulses and helps increase the contrast of the electric field pattern.

Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) are widely used in diverse technological and scientific applications due to their unique optical and catalytic properties. These properties are strongly influenced by the size, shape, composition, and/or concentration of the NPs, which in turn depend on the synthesis conditions. Therefore, the development of simple, cost-effective, and reliable analytical methods for their characterization is essential.

This study introduces the Wrapped Epanechnikov Exponential Distribution (WEED), a novel circular distribution derived from the Epanechnikov exponential distribution. The probability density function and cumulative distribution function are presented, together with a comprehensive analysis of its properties and parameters, including the characteristic function and trigonometric moments. Parameters are estimated using maximum likelihood estimation (MLE).

Genomes are composed of a mosaic of segments inherited from different ancestors, each separated by past recombination events. Consequently, genealogical relationships among multiple genomes vary spatially across different genomic regions. Genealogical variation among unlinked (uncorrelated) genomic regions is well described for either a single population (coalescent) or multiple structured populations (multispecies coalescent).

Background: Undernutrition remains a persistent public health concern among young children in Palestine, shaped by a range of socioeconomic and dietary factors. This study applies a Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) approach to explore both direct and indirect determinants of child growth among children aged 6-59 months in the West Bank.
Methods: Data were drawn from a 2022 cross-sectional survey involving 300 children selected from 1,400 households.
