Chiral objects are abundant in nature, and although the enantiomers have almost identical physical properties apart from their handedness, they can exhibit significantly different chemical properties and biological functions. This underscores the importance of sorting chiral substances. In this Letter, we demonstrate that chirality-sorting optical force pairs can be inversely generated in a tightly focused Gaussian beam by tailoring the input polarization state. We provide a detailed method for constructing the polarization state of the incident light to create the desired chiral optical field that generates the chirality-sorting optical force pairs. These force pairs precisely trap two opposite enantiomers at distinct predetermined positions within the same equilibrium plane, enabling their simultaneous identification and separation. Notably, the trapping positions and separation distances can be freely adjusted by altering the incident polarization parameters.

Objective: We designed a new distractor pairing a bioabsorbable upper fixing plate fixed by bioabsorbable screws with a traditional titanium distractor to simplify the second surgery removing the distractor after mandibular distraction osteogenesis. The present study aims to evaluate its biomechanical properties using finite element method.
Materials And Methods: Ten computer-aided designed models simulating mandibles of 5 patients under 2 working conditions, the instance of distraction and mastication, were produced.

Methods: A total of 100 elite tennis players (58 males and 42 females) participated in tests involving hard court hit-to-return and Forcedecks Dual Force Plates System-based physical function. Independent samples t-tests, paired samples t-tests and binary logistic regression were employed in data analysis.

This study presents a novel photovoltaic triboelectric nanogenerator (PTENG) that operates on sliding contacts between n-type (gallium arsenide) GaAs and metal electrodes in the presence of periodic light illumination, which offers harvesting energy synergistically by integrating both photovoltaic and triboelectric effects to enhance the energy output. Using an in-house built test setup with provision of laser illumination, the open-circuit voltage () and short-circuit current () were measured for the n-GaAs semiconductors with different metal contacts (Al and Cu). Under both laser light (630 nm) and without laser light conditions, n-GaAs with aluminum contacts exhibited the highest and values, reaching up to 11.
