This study reports the development and implementation of a straightforward, rapid, and cost-effective voltammetric technique for piroxicam (PIR) detection at nanomolar concentrations in biological and environmental samples. The method involved the use of a screen-printed electrode (SPE) enhanced with a combination of Printex L6 carbon (PL6C) and polyaniline-based activated carbon (PAC) on a chitosan film crosslinked with epichlorohydrin (CTS:EPH). The detection was carried out using square-wave adsorptive anodic stripping voltammetry (SWAdASV) in a 0.10 mol L phosphate buffer solution at pH 6.0. The approach employed yielded a low limit of detection of 4.5 × 10 mol L and a linear range of 5.0 × 10 to 8.8 × 10 mol L (r = 0.999). The PAC-PL6C-CTS:EPH/SPE sensor was effectively employed for PIR detection in synthetic urine and river water samples, where its reliability was proven through addition and recovery tests. The results obtained from the application of the proposed voltammetric method closely matched those recorded under high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), which was used as a reference method. The findings show that the technique proposed in this study offers a simple, quick, and highly effective alternative mechanism for PIR detection in both biological and environmental matrices.

To investigate the mechanism by which PIWI interacting RNA piR-hsa-26925 regulates the invasion and metastasis of lung adenocarcinoma through Methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3)-mediated m6A methylation modification. The expression levels of piR-hsa-26925 were detected in lung adenocarcinoma cell lines (H1650, H1299, H1975, and A549) and normal lung epithelial cells (BEAS-2B) using real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR). Lung adenocarcinoma cells were transfected using transient RNA transfection technology, divided into a piR-hsa-26925 knockdown group in the A549 lung adenocarcinoma cell line and a negative control (NC-1) group; the lung adenocarcinoma H1299 cell line piR-hsa-26925 overexpression group and negative control (NC-2) group.

TDP-linked proteinopathies, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and limbic-predominant age-related TDP-43 encephalopathy (LATE), are characterised by pathogenic deposits containing transactive response DNA-binding protein 43 (TDP-43) in the brain and spinal cord of patients. These hallmark pathological features are associated with widespread neuronal dysfunction and progressive neurodegeneration. TDP-43's role as an essential RNA/DNA-binding protein in RNA metabolism and gene expression regulation is clear, but deciphering the intricate pathophysiological mechanisms underpinning TDP-43-mediated neurodegeneration is paramount for developing effective therapies and novel diagnostic tools for early detection before frank neuronal loss occurs.

PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) have been implicated in the biological processes of various cancers. This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic potential of circulating piRNAs in breast cancer (BC) using machine learning (ML) frameworks. A serum tri-piRNA signature (piR-139966, piR-2572505, piR-2570061) was selected via piRNA sequencing, validated by qPCR, and then analyzed in combination with related clinical factors.

Di-butyl phthalates are endocrine disruptors commonly used in plastics to increase the flexibility and durability of polymeric materials. Due to their extensive use in personal care products and plastic packaging, and their tendency to leach from these materials, di-butyl phthalates have been frequently detected in various aquatic environments, including groundwater, drinking water, and wastewater. Given their frequent occurrences in water sources, di-butyl phthalates are capable of interfering with the endocrine system, which may lead to cancer, reproductive problems, and impaired physical growth.

Background: Osteosarcoma is a primary malignant bone tumor and that is predominantly found in adolescents and young adults, and it often occurs during periods of rapid bone growth. The precise specific etiology of osteosarcoma remains largely unknown. Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are a class of small noncoding RNAs that are typically 24 to 31 nucleotides long, and they have potential therapeutic applications in diseases.
