The word clinical derives from the Greek klinikos, meaning "at the bedside, reflecting medicine's roots in human observation and presence. While a detailed history is foundational, a thoughtful physical examination remains critical for guiding diagnosis and comprehensive care. Yet modern clinical practice, driven by time constraints and reliance on technological advancements, has reduced the physical exam to a perfunctory ritual.

Background: Stunting in children is still a public health problem in Indonesia and concerns the Indonesian government. It can have both immediate and lasting impacts on human capital development and the future productivity of those affected individuals as they mature. Therefore, healthcare professionals and health cadres must prioritize detecting and preventing stunting in childhood within Indonesia's healthcare context.

Fetal hydrocephalus causes irreversible neural injury , yet no prenatal therapy currently exists. Postnatal treatments such as ventriculoperitoneal shunts and endoscopic third ventriculostomy with choroid plexus cauterization cannot reverse pre-existing brain injury. We propose that the ventriculosubgaleal shunt (VSGS), widely used as a temporizing measure in severely premature neonates, may offer a feasible and ethically justifiable approach for treatment.
