This case report details the successful use of JenaValve for transcatheter aortic valve implantation in a male patient in his early 50s with severe aortic regurgitation. The patient had multiple comorbidities, including chronic kidney disease and heart failure, increasing the risk of surgical intervention. JenaValve, a second-generation device with unique positioning and anchoring mechanisms, was deployed successfully, resulting in immediate improvements in cardiac function without significant regurgitation or paravalvular leakage.

Antibody-mediated rejection is a leading cause of allograft failure and mortality in pediatric solid organ transplant recipients. Current apheresis systems require large blood volumes and are primarily designed for adults, making them unsuitable for children and small animals. These systems often indiscriminately remove both harmful and protective antibodies, increasing the risk of complications such as life-threatening infections.

Background: This study assessed the functional outcomes and complications of open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) using precontoured superior clavicle locking plates for displaced midshaft clavicular fractures.
Methods: In a prospective two-center study at Al-Thawra Modern General Hospital and Kuwait University Hospital, Sana'a, Yemen, from January 2018 to September 2024, 65 patients (≥18 years) with closed, displaced midshaft clavicular fractures (displacement >2 cm, shortening >2 cm, comminution, or skin tenting) underwent ORIF. Functional outcomes were evaluated six months postoperatively using the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) shoulder rating score.

The care of patients with necrotizing pancreatitis is a complex problem for the general, acute care, minimally invasive, and hepatopancreatobiliary surgeon. In this brief report, we present a case series of 2 patients with fulminant retroperitoneal necrosis recently treated at our center using a novel robotic-assisted retroperitoneal necrosectomy and debridement (RAND) following failure of the step-up approach. This approach maximizes access to the retroperitoneum and allows improved visualization and dexterity in the challenging retroperitoneal space while maintaining minimally invasive surgical principles.
