A biofilm is a diverse community of microorganisms enclosed in an extracellular matrix. Although this organization of cells exists naturally in healthy skin, it is also involved in the pathogenesis of multiple skin disorders, such as acne and atopic dermatitis. Because biofilms provide microorganisms with a survival advantage and increased resistance to traditional antibiotics, they can be very difficult to treat, particularly when the goal is to also preserve the natural skin microbiota. This review aims to provide an overview of the role of biofilms in various dermatological diseases, as well as the conventional and newly developed therapies that can be used in their treatment.

Background: Early identification of pathological α-synuclein deposition (αSynD) may improve understanding of Lewy body disorder (LBD) progression and enable timely disease-modifying treatments.
Objectives: We investigated αSynD using a seed amplification assay and assessed prodromal LBD symptoms in individuals with idiopathic olfactory dysfunction (iOD).
Methods: In this cross-sectional, case-control study, we included iOD participants and normosmic healthy controls (HC) aged 55 to 75 years without diagnoses of dementia with Lewy bodies, Parkinson's disease (PD), or other major neurological disorders.

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and underlying mechanism of advanced optimal pulse technology intense pulsed light (AOPT) in low-energy triple-pulse long-width mode (AOPT-LTL) for melasma treatment.
Methods: An in vivo guinea pig model of melasma was established through progesterone injection and ultraviolet B radiation. Three sessions of AOPT-LTL treatment were performed weekly.

Objectives: To study the molecular mechanisms of LDH-loaded si-NEAT1 for regulating paclitaxel resistance and tumor-associated macrophage (TAM) polarization in breast cancer.
Methods: qRT-PCR and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of lncRNA NEAT1, miR-133b, and PD-L1 in breast cancer SKBR3 cells and paclitaxel-resistant SKBR3 cells (SKBR3-PR). The effects of transfection with si-NEAT1 and miR-133b mimics on MRP, MCRP and PD-L1 expressions and cell proliferation, migration and apoptosis were investigated using qRT-PCR, Western blotting, scratch and Transwell assays, and flow cytometry.

Objectives: To investigate the role of circular RNA circ_0000437 in regulating biological behaviors of breast cancer cells and the molecular mechanism.
Methods: Breast cancer MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells were transfected with sh-circ_0000437, mimics, inhibitor, si-CTPS1, or their respective negative controls. qRT-PCR was used to detect the expression levels of circ_0000437, let-7b-5p, CTPS1, Notch1, Hes1, and Numb in breast cancer cell lines and tissues.
