The present study explored associations between the five personality traits (Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, and Openness) and dietary patterns of apparently healthy individuals. Demographic, anthropometric, dietary, and personality data were obtained from 480 adults, up to 45 years of age, through self-completed questionnaires. Dietary habits were assessed a validated for the population Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), whereas personality was evaluated with the validated Greek version of the 50-item International Personality Item Pool (IPIP).

Aims: Emerging evidence implicates the gut microbiota in type 2 diabetes (T2D) development and their association with multiple host factors. This study aimed to explore the differences in gut microbiota between T2D patients and non-diabetic controls, and to estimate the relationship between host factors and specific microbial signatures in T2D.
Methods: 16S rRNA gene sequencing was performed on fecal samples from 508 T2D patients and 1,538 controls in a Chinese population.

Climate change poses significant challenges to global coffee production, particularly for Arabica coffee, which is constrained by a narrow temperature tolerance and a limited genetic pool. This study explores , a species native to West Africa, as a potential alternative to Arabica due to its adaptability to higher temperatures and high-quality flavor profile. Using genome-wide association studies (GWAS), we investigated the genetic basis of phenotypic diversity within accessions from Sierra Leone, focusing on traits related to growth habit, fruit and seed morphology, and plant structural characteristics.
