Article Abstract

Here, Er/Yb Co-doped CaMoO materials (ErYbCaMoO NPs where x = 0, 0.01 and y = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) were prepared by microwave-assisted method and its pure-tetragonal structure were confirmed by X-ray diffraction spectra (XRD), Rietveld-refinement and Raman-vibrational spectra. The transmission-electron microscopy (TEM) study indicates the formation of nearly spherical shaped nanomaterial with average size of ~ 15 nm. Additionally, absorption and emission properties were studied by UV-Visible-NIR and photoluminescence (PL) spectrometer. The UV-Visible-NIR spectra attribute absorption of Er ion in visible region (380-700 nm) and absorption of Yb ion in near-infrared region (700-1400 nm). Moreover, PL up-conversion spectra of the sample recorded under excitation wavelength 980 nm. The PL peaks were observed at 530, 544-552, and 656-670 nm. Prominent PL-intensity was observed for ErYbCaMoO phosphor. Temperature dependent PL study reveals that present phosphor is robust phosphor for temperature sensor. In addition, Er/Yb doped CaMoO nanomaterials exhibited excellent activity and selectivity in the aerial oxidation of benzoin over benzyl under oxidant-free reaction conditions. The synergistic effect Er/Yb co-doing in CaMoO matrix was observed, where only CaMoO material found to be inactive towards above oxidation reaction. Moreover, the oxidation of primary benzyl-alcohols was furnished in presence of tertiary butyl hydroperoxideas oxidant.

Gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) are widely used in diverse technological and scientific applications due to their unique optical and catalytic properties. These properties are strongly influenced by the size, shape, composition, and/or concentration of the NPs, which in turn depend on the synthesis conditions. Therefore, the development of simple, cost-effective, and reliable analytical methods for their characterization is essential.

Solvation Structure of Np in a Noncomplexing Environment.

Inorg Chem

September 2025

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, Washington 99352, United States.

The solvation structure of an Np ion in an aqueous, noncomplexing and nonoxidizing environment of trifluoromethanesulfonic (triflic) acid was investigated with X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) combined with ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) calculations. Np L-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) and extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) data were collected for Np in 1, 3, and 7 M triflic acid using a laboratory-scale spectrometer and separately at a synchrotron facility, producing data sets in excellent agreement. TDDFT calculations revealed a weak pre-edge feature not previously reported for Np L-edge XANES.

Aims: Cardiac tumors are aggressive and asymptomatic in early stages, causing late diagnosis and locoregional metastasis. Currently, the standard of care uses gadolinium-based contrast agents for MRI, and the associated hypersensitivity reactions are a significant concern, such as gadolinium deposition disease. In addition, the proximity of cardiac lesions closer to vital structures complicates surgical interventions.

The growing consumer interest in functional and health-oriented foods prompted the incorporation of tartary buckwheat sprout flour (TBSF) into food production. The addition of TBSF enhanced the nutritional value of noodles. Research has shown that as the proportion of TBSF increased, both the water absorption rate and thermal stability of the dough improved, while formation time decreased and dough aging was inhibited.
