Background: Morbid obesity is a well-established risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Diastolic dysfunction, particularly in non-cardiac surgeries, has been associated with increased incidence of adverse cardiovascular events. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of diastolic dysfunction in morbidly obese patients undergoing bariatric surgery and to identify associated clinical risk factors using transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).

Background And Objective: To develop an end-to-end artificial intelligence solution-video-based Multi-Point Tracking Network (MPTN), for detecting and tracking atrioventricular junction (AVJ) points from cardiovascular magnetic resonance and deriving AVJ motion parameters.
Methods: The MPTN model consists of two modules: AVJ point detection and AVJ motion tracking. The detection module utilizes convolutional-based feature extraction and elastic regression to detect all candidate AVJ points.

Background: Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a rare, life-threatening form of heart failure occurring in late pregnancy or postpartum, with variable clinical course and outcomes. We report preliminary clinical and echocardiographic findings from a national Italian registry of PPCM patients METHODS: The study was approved by the institutional Ethics Committee and registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT05878041).

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) cirrhosis is now the second leading indication for liver transplantation (LT) worldwide and is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular events before and after LT. Cirrhotics who undergo left heart catheterization (LHC) with coronary artery stenting for LT evaluation require dual-antiplatelet therapy (DAPT). Data regarding the safety, risk of gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, and mortality risk of cirrhotics receiving DAPT is limited.
