The transition between the ferromagnetic (FM) and anti-ferromagnetic (AFM) phases in van der Waals (vdW) magnets has been extensively studied since the discovery of vdW magnets, due to the importance of both transitions within a single material. Recently, among vdW magnets, FeGaTe (FGaT) has garnered significant attention for its robust FM properties that remain stable above room temperature. Also, the FM to AFM phase transition in this material has been achieved through substitutional Co-atom doping at Fe sites. Here, we have reconfirmed the FM to AFM phase transition in FGaT and observed the metamagnetic transition between the two magnetic phases. Furthermore, the meta-stable magnetic state in 19-22% Co-doped FGaT in a certain field range was noted, which vanishes when the doping level increases further. Interestingly, when measuring the minor loop during the phase transition, its magnetization under a field-sweep reversing field is maintained in a meta-stable magnetic state region. The persistence of magnetization, which indicates the co-existence of AFM and FM domains in this meta-stable magnetic region, creates multi-level configurations that enable advanced applications in multi-level logic devices, neuromorphic computing, and applications involving magnetic domains. Our findings can expand the application scope and the utilization methods of vdW magnets.

The discovery of (meta)stable pre-nucleation species (PNS) challenges the established nucleation-and-growth paradigm. While stable PNS with long lifetimes are readily accessible experimentally, identifying and characterizing early-stage intermediates with short lifetimes remains challenging. We demonstrate that species with lifetimes ≪ 5 s can be characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy when boosted by 'Bullet' dynamic nuclear polarization (Bullet-DNP).

Due to their versatile composition and customizable properties, ABC Heusler alloys have found applications in magnetic refrigeration, magnetic shape memory effects, permanent magnets, and spintronic devices. The discovery of all--metal Heusler alloys with improved mechanical properties compared to those containing main group elements presents an opportunity to engineer Heusler alloys for energy-related applications. Using high-throughput density-functional theory calculations, we screened magnetic all--metal Heusler compounds and identified 686 (meta)stable compounds.

Working memory (WM) is a distributed and dynamic process, and WM deficits are recognized as one of the top-ranked endophenotype candidates for major depressive disorders (MDD). However, there is a lack of knowledge of brain temporal-spatial profile of WM deficits in MDD. We used the dynamical degree centrality (dDC) to investigate the whole-brain temporal-spatial profile in 40 MDD and 40 controls during an n-back task with 2 conditions (i.

Given the increasing energy storage demands and limited natural resources of Li, K-ion batteries (KIBs) could be promising next-generation systems having natural abundance, similar chemistry, and energy density. Here, we have investigated the P3-type KTMO (where TM = Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Co, or Ni) systems using density functional theory calculations as potential positive intercalation electrodes (or cathodes) for KIBs. Specifically, we have identified ground-state configurations and calculated the average topotactic voltages, electronic structures, on-site magnetic moments, and thermodynamic stabilities of all P3-KTMO compositions and their corresponding depotassiated P3-TMO frameworks.
