A 64-year-old woman with meningioma presented with left-sided lenticulostriatal ischemia following craniotomy and debulking of a sphenoid wing meningioma. For subsequent radiotherapy planning, an SSTR-targeted PET/CT using the novel ligand 18 F-SiTATE was performed 2.5 months thereafter. The meningioma remnants showed transosseous, intrasellar, and perivascular extension around the internal carotid artery with strong SSTR expression. Moreover, there was focal 18 F-SiTATE uptake in the left caudate and corresponding contrast enhancement due to postischemic blood-brain barrier disruption and reactive SSTR expression. Therefore, increased cortical or subcortical SSTR PET signal may be related to ischemic changes even in the subacute stage after initial stroke.

Port site metastasis is an uncommon but clinically relevant complication, particularly associated with minimally invasive surgery for abdomino-pelvic malignancies, often indicating poor prognosis and necessitating prompt evaluation for potential surgical intervention. Proposed mechanisms include direct tumor implantation, aerosolization during pneumoperitoneum, surgical wound contamination, and immune alterations. In this report, we describe a case of a 48-year-old man who developed SSTR-expressing port site metastases, occurring 4 years and 4 months following laparoscopic resection of an ileal neuroendocrine tumor (NET).

Our previous study showed that the antagonist of the GluN2B subunit of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor, the compound CP-101,606, negatively affected hepatic cytochrome P450 (P450) expression and activity after intraperitoneal administration. The aim of our current study was to demonstrate the effect of intracerebral administration of CP-101,606 into the paraventricular (PVN) or arcuate (ARC) nuclei of the hypothalamus on the central neuroendocrine regulation of P450. Male rats received bilateral injections of CP-101,606 into the PVN or ARC for 5 days.
