Introduction: The pursuit of periorbital rejuvenation to counteract signs of aging is a focal point in cosmetic surgery, with eyelid surgery being a prominent choice among patients. Addressing inferior blepharoplasty, especially in cases involving chronic malar edema, malar mounds, and festoons, presents unique challenges. The terminology and classification of these conditions vary, hindering effective management. In this study, we use the term "malar bags" to encompass the spectrum of fluid-associated mounds over the malar eminence.
Objectives: This study aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of direct excision as a surgical choice for treating the aesthetic concerns associated with malar bags.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 53 patients who underwent direct excision of malar bags between 2013 and 2023 at our clinic.
Results: No major complications were encountered, overall high level of satisfaction for both patients and surgeons.
Conclusion: Direct excision of malar bags proved to be a safe and effective technique, yielding satisfactory results in terms of both aesthetic outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Rationale: Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer affecting women worldwide, caused by persistent infection with oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) types. While HPV infections usually resolve spontaneously, persistent infections with high-risk HPV types can progress to premalignant glandular or - mostly - squamous intraepithelial lesions, usually classified in cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Women with CIN 2 and CIN 3 (i.

Background: Treating symptomatic deep-seated cerebral cavernous malformations (CCMs) is challenging due to surgical risks.
Case Description: A 37-year-old man underwent awake craniotomy with direct electrical stimulation (DES) for excision of a left posterior thalamic CCM. A transcortical transventricular approach through the superior parietal lobe enabled safe navigation around critical associative and projection white matter tracts.

Plants have evolved to produce diverse molecules that inhibit protein translation. A lead example is homoharringtonine (HHT), both a key tool for ribosomal profiling and an FDA-approved treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia. HHT is commercially produced through semi-synthesis by esterifying the alkaloid core cephalotaxine (CET) extracted from endangered species.

These biological processes encompass DNA repair, metabolism, telomere maintenance, and immune responses. Based on structural and functional features, the PARP family is classified into subcategories, such as DNA-dependent PARPs, Tankyrase, CCCH-type PARPs, MacroPARPs, and atypical PARPs.

Objective: To summarize the diagnosis and treatment experience of small intestinal duplication malformations in our hospital.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed data from 90 children undergoing surgery for intestinal duplication malformations at our hospital from October 2019 to October 2024. All patients underwent transumbilical single-site laparoscopic-assisted resection.
