The transcription factor p63 is a master regulator of multiple ectodermal derivatives. During epidermal commitment, p63 interacts with several chromatin remodeling complexes to transactivate epidermal-specific genes and repress transcription of simple epithelial and nonepithelial genes. In the postnatal epidermis, p63 is required to control the proliferative potential of progenitor cells, maintain epidermal integrity, and contribute to epidermal differentiation. Autosomal dominant sequence variant in p63 cause a spectrum of syndromic disorders that affect several tissues, including or derived from stratified epithelia. In this review, we describe the recent studies that have provided novel insights into disease pathogenesis and potential therapeutic targets.

Soft tissue sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of malignancies arising from mesenchymal cells. Recent advancements in genomic profiling have identified novel gene fusions in these tumors, offering new insights into their pathogenesis and potential therapeutic targets. Here, we describe a spindle cell sarcoma harboring a novel gene fusion.

To explore the clinical features, histopathological morphology, and differential diagnosis of lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma with abnormal expression of follicular dendritic cell markers. From 2020 to 2021, 4 cases of lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma with abnormal expression of follicular dendritic cell markers diagnosed in Fujian Cancer Hospital (2 cases) and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University (2 cases) were collected. Different ancillary procedures such as HE, special stains, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization techniques were used to assess the histopathological features and immunophenotypes.

Muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) with cardiac metastasis typically carries a very poor prognosis. A Black woman in her 70s developed high-grade urothelial carcinoma with squamous differentiation invading the bladder muscle. Despite chemotherapy, radiation, and nephrostomy, the disease progressed.

A 73-year-old male was admitted to our department with complaints of upper abdominal distension, accompanied by dull pain and belching for more than 10 days. Gastroscopy revealed a broad-based raised lesion, approximately 1.0 cm in diameter, on the anterior wall of the gastric body, with a central star-shaped depression, erosion, and surrounding congestion.

A series of six quinary rare-earth sulfides CeEuNaSiS, CeEuKSiS, CeEuRbSiS, CeEuCsSiS, CeEuAgSiS, and CeEuCuSiS were obtained in an alkali iodide flux using the boron-chalcogen mixture (BCM) method. Single crystal X-ray diffraction was used to determine the structures of the high quality single crystals that were grown; their elemental compositions were confirmed by energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The compounds crystallize in the hexagonal crystal system in the noncentrosymmetric space group 6.
