Article Abstract

The purpose of the current study was to examine the risk factors of young children's smartphone addiction in a longitudinal study design. Data collected from 313 participants (mean age, 4.5 ± 0.82 years; male, 49.8%) over 4 years for Kids Cohort for Understanding of Internet Addiction Risk Factors in Early Childhood were analyzed in this study. Mixed effect models were used to evaluate the influence of various variables on the repeated measures of smartphone addiction tendency in young children over time. The multi-level analysis showed that parents' lack of control over children's smartphone use ( = -4.523; 95% confidence interval [CI], -7.32, -1.72), and parents' higher smartphone addiction proneness ( = 6.340; 95% CI, 0.23, 0.440) predicted higher smartphone addiction tendency in young children. The responsibility of the parents to prevent their children from becoming addicted to smartphones should start in a very early age when they start using the smartphones.

Introduction: Since only around 10% of people with gambling disorder (GD) seek professional treatment or attend self-help groups, multiple strategies are needed to improve this rate. The proposal of the Behavioral Addictions Centre 'Adcom' (Madrid, Spain) is one of these strategies, a pioneering and innovative program aimed at the general population to identify people with addictions such as GD, in an attempt tp offer them appropriate evidence-based treatments.

Materials And Methods: We analyzed information obtained from the first 305 adults who voluntarily sought attention at Adcom for self-referred gambling, and conducted a descriptive, cross-sectional and observational study of this population.

Background: American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities experienced a disproportionate increase in opioid-related fatal and non-fatal poisonings during the COVID-19 pandemic. Access to treatment, such as medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), became even more critical, although research among this population is limited. We completed qualitative interviews with substance use disorder (SUD) treatment providers (i.

Department of Psychology, Yunnan Normal University, Kunming, Yunnan Province, P.R. China. Electronic address:

Background: Internet gaming disorder (IGD) is a clinically heterogeneous condition, yet the underlying neurobiological subtypes remain to be elucidated. Investigating the sub-patterns of spontaneous neural activity and the state switching from individual to group patterns may provide deeper insights into the etiology of IGD.

Methods: Resting-state functional MRI data were collected from 519 participants (257 with IGD; 262 recreational game users, RGU).

Background: As future healthcare workers, if medical students can enhance their psychological resilience, it will help them better cope with the pressures and challenges of their future work, thereby improving the overall mental health of healthcare personnel. We aim to identify high-risk individuals among medical students with low psychological resilience and to explore the potential mechanisms for improving psychological resilience.

Methods: We developed an Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) model using basic characteristics and health behavior information of medical students, and compared its performance with that of Logistic Regression (LR), Decision Tree (DT), and Random Forest (RF) models.

Background And Aims: This scoping review aims to identify current forms of interventions for Problematic Usage of the Internet (PUI) to inform more effective intervention and policy-making initiatives grounded in robust empirical evidence.

Methods: The search was conducted in the PubMed, Scopus, and PsycINFO databases until October 12, 2024. Empirical research presenting data on interventions for PUI and written in English was included without restrictions of age groups, types of interventions, or types of PUI.
