Article Abstract

The Fabry-Pérot interferometer, a fundamental component in optoelectronic systems, offers interesting applications such as sensors, lasers, and filters. In this work, we show a tunable Fabry-Pérot cavity consisting of tunable Sagnac loop reflectors (SLRs) and phase shifters based on electrostatic microelectromechanical (MEMS) actuator. The fabrication process of the device is compatible with the standard wafer-level silicon photonics fabrication processes. This electrostatic actuation mechanism provides well-balanced, scalable pathways for efficient tuning methodologies. The extinction ratio of the continuously tunable SLRs' reflectivity is larger than 20 dB. Full 2π phase shifting is achieved, and response times of all the components are less than 25 μs. Both actuators have extremely low static power, measuring under 20 fW and the energy needed for tuning is both below 20 pJ.

The generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) through nanozyme-mediated sonocatalytic therapy has demonstrated remarkable therapeutic efficacy in the field of cancer. Nevertheless, it remains a significant challenge for nanozymes with a single catalytic active center to generate sufficient ROS via Fenton or Fenton-like reactions to effectively induce tumor cell death. In order to enhance the catalytic efficacy, we devised and synthesized a multiple active centre and mitochondrial-targeted perovskite nanozyme (NCFP), doped with cobalt (Co) element, and incorporated 4-carboxybutyltriphenylphosphonium bromide (TPP) as a mitochondrial targeting marker for ultrasound (US)-assisted enzyme-like catalytic treatment of tumors.

The CO cycloaddition route is an effective way to achieve efficient conversion and utilization of CO. Zeolites with diverse topologies and tunable acidic sites can efficiently promote the cycloaddition reaction of CO with epoxides. The exchangeable cations in zeolites have a great influence on the performance of the CO cycloaddition, but there are few studies on it.

Magnon-phonon hybridization in ordered materials is a crucial phenomenon with significant implications for spintronics, magnonics, and quantum materials research. We present direct experimental evidence and theoretical insights into magnon-phonon coupling in Mn_{3}Ge, a kagome antiferromagnet with noncollinear spin order. Using inelastic x-ray scattering and ab initio modeling, we uncover strong hybridization between planar spin fluctuations and transverse optical phonons, resulting in a large hybridization gap of ∼2  meV.

Multiple Exceptional Rings in One-Dimensional Perovskite Photonic Crystals.

Phys Rev Lett

August 2025

Jilin University, State Key Laboratory of Integrated Optoelectronics, JLU Region, College of Electronic Science and Engineering, Changchun 130012, China.

Exceptional rings (ERs) are high-dimensional non-Hermitian topologies formed by exceptional points, significantly enriching the topological properties of non-Hermitian systems. Because of the intricate topology and symmetry requirements, the realization of ERs generally demands complex structures and precise parameter tuning, resulting in relatively few experimental observations in high-dimensional periodic systems. Here, we show that even the simplest 1D non-Hermitian periodic systems can support multiple ERs, enabled by the system's multiple degrees of freedom which naturally accommodate diverse non-Hermitian perturbations.

The photonic flat band, defined by minimal dispersion and near-zero group velocity, has facilitated significant advances in optical technologies. The practical applications of flat bands, such as enhanced light-matter interactions, require efficient coupling to far-field radiation. However, achieving controlled coupling between flat bands and their corresponding localized modes with far-field radiation remains challenging and elusive.
