United Nations General Assembly declared that 2023 will be celebrated as the International Year of Millets. Millets are a group of coarse grains from the Poaceae family that offer numerous benefits that align with various United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). This review explores diverse contributions of millet cultivation, consumption, and value addition with UN SDGs. The millets help in combating hunger by providing economical sources of essential nutrients and diversifying diets, improving health through mitigating malnutrition and diet-related diseases. Millet's lower water demand and resilience to climatic stress help in sustainable water management. Millets reduce the risks associated with monoculture farming and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Similarly, millet plants need few chemical fertilizers, and the ecological damage associated with these plants is minimized. Millets can prevent soil degradation and conserve biodiversity. They can adapt to diverse cropping systems and support sustainable land practices. Millet cultivation reduces inequalities by empowering smallholder farmers and maintaining economic balance. The cultivation and trading of millets promote partnerships among governments, NGOs, and businesses for sustainable development. The ability of millet to contribute to poverty reduction, hunger alleviation, health improvement, environmental sustainability, and economic development makes millet a sustainable choice for a better world.

Objectives: Healthcare systems contribute significantly to global greenhouse gas emissions through energy consumption and waste generation. This study aims to explore strategies to make cochlear implantation processes more environmentally sustainable and aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
Methods: We examined various approaches including the use of bio-based and biodegradable materials, sustainable energy solutions, greener anesthetic practices, effective waste separation and recycling in operating rooms, and patient-centered strategies such as reducing travel and promoting early activation and fitting of cochlear implants.

Considering the complexities of electronics waste management to meet the requirements of digital-age technologies, this article underscores the pressing need for eco-friendly, economical, and sustainable engineering solutions. Here, it uniquely focuses on bacteriogenic metallic and semiconducting nano-systems as a promising yet underexplored solution for sustainable materials innovation. Unlike conventional green nanofabrication methods involving plants or eukaryotic microbes, bacteria possess numerous merits for fabrication, including ease of cultivation, a wide spectrum of genera, abundance, prompt cell division efficacy, genetic elasticity, and high bio-reduction/oxidation efficacy that make them highly adaptable platforms for engineered nanostructures.

Citizen science plays a crucial role in advancing the objectives of the European Union's Water Framework Directive (WFD) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among the key strengths of citizen science is that it fills information gaps in the management and observation of aquatic ecosystems, especially small rivers that often lack national and sub-national agency monitoring. The present study explores opportunities and challenges of integrating citizen science data with those of Environmental Agencies.
