Article Abstract

Changes in the individual's attachment orientation toward greater security are considered an important clinical goal. One promising underlying process of change in attachment orientation is shifting the emotion regulation tendency, in which the individual progresses from overreliance on the self or on the other to regulate emotional arousal. The present study utilized a computational approach to study shifts in the emotion regulation tendency as these manifest in the patient's and therapist's vocally encoded emotional arousal. The study examined whether shifts in the regulation tendency are associated with decreases in the level of insecure attachment and in strengthening of the therapeutic alliance. Shifts in the regulation tendency were examined throughout the early stages of treatment (Sessions 1-4) using 11,710 talk turns within 52 patient-therapist dyads. Findings suggest that shifts in the emotion regulation tendency are associated with greater strengthening of the therapeutic alliance and a decrease in the level of attachment avoidance. Bleomycin (BLM) is an effective anticancer agent; however, its clinical use is limited by its tendency to induce pulmonary fibrosis (PF), a complication whose molecular mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we established a BLM-induced C57BL/6 mouse model of PF and applied total RNA-seq in combination with network toxicology approaches to investigate the role of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in this process. The lncRNA Xist was identified as a hub node in the network, regulating the expression of its target Mmp25 via interaction with miR-34a-5p and miR-449c-5p.

Individual differences in neural circuits underlying emotional regulation, motivation, and decision-making are implicated in many psychiatric illnesses. Interindividual variability in these circuits may manifest, at least in part, as individual differences in impulsivity at both normative and clinically significant levels. Impulsivity reflects a tendency towards rapid, unplanned reactions to internal or external stimuli without considering potential negative consequences coupled with difficulty inhibiting responses.

Background: Halo nevi are clinically common and are characterized by a circle of leukoderma around the central melanocytic nevus. Studies have shown that the pathogenesis of halo nevi is similar to that of vitiligo and is associated with the role of CD8⁺ T lymphocytes in melanocyte destruction. Histopathological findings have revealed neutrophil infiltration in halo nevi; however, the specific immune mechanisms involving neutrophils have not been thoroughly investigated.

Background: Previous studies have shown that coptisine (COP), a benzyl tetrahydroisoquinoline alkaloid isolated from Coptis chinensis, exhibits antibacterial activity against H. pylori. Furthermore, COP shows a low tendency to induce resistance, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic candidate for H.
