Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) are being extensively researched as replacements for liquid electrolytes in future batteries. Despite significant advancements, there are still challenges in using SSEs, particularly in extreme conditions. This study presents a hydrated metal-organic ionic cocrystal (HMIC) solid-state ion conductor with a solvent-assisted ion transport mechanism suitable for extreme operating conditions.

Anti-Aβ antibodies are important tools for identifying structural features of aggregates of the Aβ peptide and are used in many aspects of Alzheimer's disease (AD) research. Our laboratory recently reported the generation of a polyclonal antibody, pAb2AT-L, that is moderately selective for oligomeric Aβ over monomeric and fibrillar Aβ and recognizes the diffuse peripheries of Aβ plaques in AD brain tissue but does not recognize the dense fibrillar plaque cores. This antibody was generated against 2AT-L, a structurally defined Aβ oligomer mimic composed of three Aβ-derived β-hairpins arranged in a triangular fashion and covalently stabilized with three disulfide bonds.

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) is a critical imaging modality in nuclear medicine but requires radioactive tracer administration, which increases radiation exposure risks. While recent studies have investigated MR-guided low-dose PET denoising, they neglect two critical factors: the synergistic roles of multicontrast MR images and disease-specific denoising requirements. In this work, we propose a diffusion model that integrates T1-weighted, T2 fluid attenuated inversion recovery (T2 FLAIR), and hippocampal-optimized (T2 HIPPO) MR sequences to achieve ultra-low-dose PET denoising tailored for temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE).

Background and purposeThis study presents our initial experience using Obtura, a novel nonadhesive liquid embolic agent with extra-low viscosity variants, in transvenous curative embolization of brain arteriovenous malformations (bAVMs). We assess the agent's performance and compare its advantages with other extra-low viscosity options currently available.Materials and methodsFive patients (three females, two males; mean age, 33 years; range, 20-55 years) with ruptured bAVMs were treated using the transvenous retrograde pressure cooker technique (TVRPCT).

Organic battery electrode materials represent a sustainable alternative compared to most inorganic electrodes, yet challenges persist regarding their energy density and cycling stability. In this work, a new organic electrode material is described, which is obtained via ionothermal polymerization of low-cost starting materials, melem (2,5,8-triamino-tri-s-triazine) and perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA). The resulting networked polymer Melem-PDI exhibits favorable thermal and electrochemical properties, prompting investigation into its performance as a positive electrode material in rechargeable lithium and magnesium batteries.
