Article Abstract

The accuracy of atomic sensor is determined by the transverse nuclear spin relaxation time (T). As the longitudinal nuclear spin relaxation time (T) is the upper limit of T, it becomes an important metric for evaluating the merits of alkali vapor cells. However, the conventional method for measuring T of pulse delay takes dozens of minutes, which will increase the effect of random errors during the testing process. In order to solve this problem, a method to quickly estimate the value of T is proposed by suppressing the influence of spin exchange relaxation and magnetic field gradient relaxation terms on T. Experimental results indicate that the accuracy is maintained at above 95%, and the testing time is reduced to less than 5%.

Effect of knee joint position on soleus muscle function during isokinetic plantarflexion.

Physiol Int

September 2025

2Faculty of Sports Science, Ningbo University, No. 818 Fenghua Road, Jiangbei District, 315211, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, PR China.

Purpose: Contribution of the gastrocnemii muscles to ankle moment is influenced by the knee joint position because they span the knee and the ankle joint as well. However, limited information is available on the effect of knee joint position on soleus activation under dynamic plantarflexion, hence the aim of this study was to investigate if soleus have a compensatory strategy in fascicle behavior or EMG activity during knee flexed plantarflexion in order to reduce the magnitude of the decrement in ankle moment.

Equipment And Methods: Isokinetic dynamometry with EMG and ultrasound measurements was used to estimate medial gastrocnemius and soleus behavior during knee flexed and extended plantarflexions using three angular velocities.

Background: IgA nephropathy is a disease with a highly variable natural history, for which there is an increasing understanding of the role of complement activation in its pathogenesis and progression. We aimed to assess the clinical and prognostic implications of C4d staining in the kidney biopsy of IgA nephropathy patients.

Methods: This was a retrospective observational study wherein the medical records of IgA nephropathy patients were reviewed and baseline characteristics, kidney biopsy findings, treatment response and follow-up data were noted.

Methods for analyzing longitudinal data from randomized pretest-posttest-follow-up trials in behavioral research: a practical guide to latent change models.

Randomized pretest, posttest, follow-up (RPPF) designs are widely used in longitudinal behavioral intervention research to evaluate the efficacy of treatments over time. These designs typically involve random assignment of participants to treatment and control conditions, with assessments conducted at baseline, immediately post-intervention, and during the follow-up period. Researchers primarily focus on determining whether the intervention is more effective than the control condition at post-treatment and whether these effects are sustained or change over time.

To evaluate intraoperative ventilatory mechanics during robotic-assisted hysterectomy in obese women with endometrial cancer and introduce the concept of a physiologic "ceiling effect" in respiratory strain. We conducted a retrospective cohort study of 89 women with biopsy-confirmed endometrial cancer who underwent robotic-assisted total hysterectomy between 2011 and 2015. Intraoperative ventilatory parameters, including plateau airway pressure and static lung compliance, were recorded at five-minute intervals.

Purpose: Living donor kidney transplantation is a critical strategy to address the growing burden of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) in Malaysia. Whilst living donation is generally safe, concerns remain regarding long-term donor outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate renal function and morbidity changes in living kidney donors 1 year post-donation, and to identify predictors of impaired kidney function.
