Purpose: To compare the insertion torque (IT) and removal torque (RT) of Neodent Zi zirconia (Zr) implants (Straumann) and Neodent Alvim titanium (Ti) implants (Straumann) while measuring both the maximum torque (MT) supported by the Zr implant and the MT sustained by the assembler of the implants until fracture.
Materials And Methods: In this in vitro study, 24 implants with the same microgeometry were split into two groups-12 Zr implants and 12 Ti implants-and compared. Implant bed preparations were completed in bovine ribs following a standardized drilling protocol. Then the IT, RT, MT to fracture, and MT to fracture of the assembler were completed using a calibrated torque meter. Data was presented using descriptive statistics including means, SDs, medians, and quartiles. The Shapiro-Wilk test was used to verify data normality and the Wilcoxon test was used to evaluate differences between groups. Statistical significance was established as P < .05.
Results: Zr implants showed an IT of 89.33 ± 31.18 Ncm and an RT of 84.89 ± 32.92 Ncm. Ti implants showed an IT of 77.58 ± 28.96 Ncm and an RT of 76.75 ± 31.29 Ncm without significant differences (P > .05). In relation to fracture under rotational force, the Zr implants. fractured at 106.17 ± 22.54 Ncm, and the implant assembly fractured at 84.00 ± 13.14 Ncm.
Conclusions: Neodent Zi implants showed stability but a lower fracture torque than the Alvim Ti implants. As the fracture values of the assembler were significantly lower than the fracture values of the Zr implants, it can be stated that, as recommended by the manufacturer, they act as a safety measure during placement.

Introduction: Developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) poses challenges for component positioning during total hip arthroplasty (THA) secondary to abnormal bone morphology, soft-tissue contractures, and hip center migration. The objective of this study was to evaluate the radiographic and clinical outcomes of THA for DDH performed with robotic assistance versus manual (M) technique.
Methods: A retrospective review identified 115 patients with Crowe II to IV dysplasia undergoing primary THA at a single institution from 2016 to 2022.

Purpose: To evaluate and compare the biocompatibility of hydrophilic and hydrophobic intraocular lenses (IOLs) in patients with uveitis undergoing phacoemulsification, with particular focus on posterior capsule opacification (PCO), postoperative inflammation, and visual outcomes.
Methods: Patients with uveitis who underwent phacoemulsification with IOL implantation between 2015 and 2023 were retrospectively reviewed. Propensity score matching (1:1) was performed to account for clinical and demographic variables, yielding 132 eyes (66 per group) for analysis.

Enoxaparin sodium (ES), a low molecular weight heparin derivative, has recently been recognized for its diverse biological activities. In particular, the ability of heparin to modulate inflammation has been utilized to enhance the biocompatibility of bone implant materials. In this study, we utilized poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), a drug loading bone implant material, as a matrix and combined this with enoxaparin sodium (ES) to create enoxaparin sodium PMMA cement (ES-PMMA) to investigate the regulatory effects of ES on inflammatory responses in bone tissue from an animal model.

Background: The insertion of implants and tip plasties has been performed in Asian patients for an attractive and higher nasal profile, which can result in diverse tip deformations such as notching, pinching, alar retraction, incompetent external valve, deviated tip, cephalic rotation, and lateral crus malposition due to inappropriate manipulation of the lower lateral cartilage and/or silicone capsular contracture. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and utility of applying lateral crural strut graft (LCSG) as a consistent and appropriate surgical method to correct various nasal tip deformities that occur as complications following rhinoplasty in Asian patients.
Methods: We prospectively studied 37 patients with a minimum follow-up of 12 months among 53 patients who underwent secondary rhinoplasty, including LCSG, between January 2016 and December 2020.
