Coarse-grained (CG) molecular dynamics simulations extend the length and time scales of atomistic simulations by replacing groups of correlated atoms with CG beads. Machine-learned coarse-graining (MLCG) has recently emerged as a promising approach to construct highly accurate force fields for CG molecular dynamics. However, the calibration of MLCG force fields typically hinges on force matching, which demands extensive reference atomistic trajectories with corresponding force labels.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the potential contribution of subtle peripheral auditory dysfunction to listening difficulties (LiD) using a threshold-equalizing noise (TEN) test and distortion-product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE). We hypothesized that a subset of patients with LiD have undetectable peripheral auditory dysfunction.
Design: This case-control study included 61 patients (12 to 53 years old; male/female, 18/43) in the LiD group and 22 volunteers (12 to 59 years old; male/female, 10/12) in the control group.

The hypertrophied column of Bertin (HCB) is a benign anatomical variant of the renal cortex that may mimic a neoplastic mass, particularly on ultrasound, potentially leading to unnecessary diagnostic or surgical interventions. We report the case of a nine-year-old girl in whom a renal lesion was incidentally discovered during follow-up imaging for a post-traumatic subcapsular hematoma. Renal ultrasound revealed an isoechoic mass in the mid-portion of the left kidney, extending into the renal sinus.

The Upper Jurassic Solnhofen Archipelago of Germany has yielded a pterosaur assemblage that has long underpinned and continues to dominate much of our understanding of these flying reptiles. Knowledge of how this assemblage was shaped by processes of fossilization, critical for generating robust paleobiological hypotheses, remains limited. Here, we combine fatal trauma case studies with quantitative taphonomic data to reveal two distinct fossilization pathways.

As a 2D material with distinctive ferroelectric properties, InSe offers significant potential for the applications in information memory and advanced data storage technologies. It also exhibits a complex phase diagram that is highly sensitive to temperature and pressure variations, resulting in diverse lattice configurations. While extensive studies have focused on the phase transition behavior of InSe, its impact on phonon transport remains largely unexplored.
