The One Health (OH) approach is used to control/prevent zoonotic events. However, there is a lack of tools for systematically assessing OH practices. Here, we applied the Global OH Index (GOHI) to evaluate the global OH performance for zoonoses (GOHI-Zoonoses). The fuzzy analytic hierarchy process algorithm and fuzzy comparison matrix were used to calculate the weights and scores of five key indicators, 16 subindicators, and 31 datasets for 160 countries and territories worldwide. The distribution of GOHI-Zoonoses scores varies significantly across countries and regions, reflecting the strengths and weaknesses in controlling or responding to zoonotic threats. Correlation analyses revealed that the GOHI-Zoonoses score was associated with economic, sociodemographic, environmental, climatic, and zoological factors. Additionally, the Human Development Index had a positive effect on the score. This study provides an evidence-based reference and guidance for global, regional, and country-level efforts to optimize the health of people, animals, and the environment.

Several complications have been reported following copolyamide filler injections for breast augmentation leading many countries to issue warnings regarding the use of nonabsorbable fillers. While previous reports have described breast complications necessitating surgical intervention after filler injections, none have explicitly documented the continuation of postoperative breastfeeding. Here, we report a rare case in which a woman with a history of breast augmentation using AQUALIFT developed mastitis following childbirth and the initiation of breastfeeding.

The Mexican long-nosed bat () is a nectar-feeding bat distributed seasonally between Mexico and the United States, and it has been declared an endangered species in both countries. Here, we describe for the first time the movement patterns and locations of foraging areas used by lactating females from the only known maternity roost in central Mexico. GPS loggers were placed on 29 lactating females, adhered to the interscapular area with short-term surgical glue.

Owing to increased global movement, vector-spread permissive climate change, and increased vaccination coverage against certain flaviviruses, the likelihood of being exposed to multiple flaviviruses in a lifetime has increased. Although many Asian countries have routine vaccination campaigns against Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV), the effect of JEV immunity on dengue disease severity is largely unknown. Here, we aimed to understand the effect of preexisting immunity against JEV on subsequent dengue disease outcomes in a prospective human cohort in Nepal, which has a high prevalence of JEV immunity and rapidly rising dengue virus (DENV) infections.
