Introduction: Sepsis remains a leading cause of mortality, with mortality from septic shock exceeding 40%. Standardized resuscitation (30 mL/kg) may cause adverse outcomes, including fluid overload or prolonged hypotension, emphasizing the need for individualized strategies. Sepsis-induced shock arises from varying degrees of vasodilation and hypovolemia, yet patients often present with similar clinical signs in the emergency department (ED).

Introduction: Zanidatamab is a humanized biparatopic IgG antibody that selectively inhibits HER2 signaling pathway by targeting two distinct epitopes in the extracellular domains II and IV of HER2. Zanidatamab received accelerated approval from the United States Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of HER2-positive (immunohistochemistry [IHC] 3+) biliary tract cancer (BTC) in November 2024. Additionally, zanidatamab received approval for the treatment of HER2 IHC 3+ BTC from the European Medicines Agency in June 2025, and from National Medical Products Administration of China in May 2025.

Background: Extensive head and neck reconstructive surgery is a complex procedure often performed in patients with multiple comorbidities, and the risk of complications is high. Evidence-based preoperative assessment and reliable risk prediction are therefore essential, and the anesthesiologist plays an important role in this process. The aim of this study was to evaluate the predictive properties of readily available clinical parameters for postoperative complications.

In response to the recent proposal by Monares-Zepeda et al. to estimate mean systemic filling pressure (MSFP) using cardiac power (CP) as a surrogate for the venous return pressure gradient (VRg), we raise concerns regarding the physiological validity and generalizability of the reported correlation. We demonstrate through simulation that the relationship between CP and VRg arises from structural mathematical coupling due to shared dependence on cardiac output (CO), and that this correlation weakens significantly (r = 0.
