The separation of acetylene from carbon dioxide is challenging due to their almost identical molecular sizes and volatilities. Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in general are strong candidates for the separation of gas mixtures owing to the presence of functional pore surfaces that can selectively capture specific target molecules. Herein, we report a stable and easily synthesized bismuth-based MOF, Bi-BTC, which can achieve the separation of acetylene and carbon dioxide. We performed a detailed analysis of the sorption properties of the Bi-MOF. Bi-BTC shows good adsorption capacities for CH with a capacity of 53.8 cm g at 298 K and 1.0 bar, and CH/CO selectivity of 5.14/7.69 at 298 K and 1.0/0.1 bar. IAST selectivity calculations indicate that Bi-BTC possesses good separation capacity, and dynamic breakthrough experiments were performed to prove the separation of CH and CO. Bi-MOFs as a group of relatively less studied types of MOFs have interesting adsorption characteristics, and this study on Bi-based MOF will enrich three-dimensional Bi-MOF adsorbents for gas adsorption and separation applications.

The generation of α-imino metal carbenes from readily available alkynes via nitrene transfer has emerged as an important advancement in carbene chemistry, but current methodologies remain constrained to noble-metal catalysts. Additionally, the dearomatization involving α-imino metal carbenes has not been unexplored. In this study, we disclose a copper-catalyzed dearomatization reaction of azides with ynamide-phenol derivatives via α-imino copper carbenes.

Cyclic oligomers with multiple redox centers are ideal models for intramolecular electron transfer processes, as they feature well-defined spatial geometries and degenerate energy states. The design and synthesis of such structures with strongly interacting monomers, however, remains a significant challenge. Here, we report a one-pot synthesis of an acetylene-bridged ferrocene macrocycle (9) using alkyne metathesis, with a remarkable 43% isolated yield.

Acetylene (CH), as a crucial chemical feedstock, and its purification from multicomponent light hydrocarbon mixtures is industrially challenging. Herein, we used the 3-methyl-4-(4-1,2,4-triazol-4-yl) benzoic acid (HL) ligand and CoSO·7HO to assemble a novel metal-organic framework (MOF), [Co(L)(OH)(SO) (HO)]·DMA·4HO (), with porous channels decorated with accessible active sites including an open metal center, an uncoordinated carboxylate group, functional methyl groups, and sulfate anions. The adsorption capacities are 64.

This investigation presents a single-step reaction performed at ambient temperature in aqueous media, involving acetylacetone, aldehydes, guanidine, and activated acetylenic compounds, employing a catalytic system consisting of small quantities of Cu/ZnO@GO. Currently, the antioxidant potential of select synthesized dipyridopyrimidines is evaluated diphenyl-picrylhydrazine (DPPH) radical scavenging assays. Furthermore, the antimicrobial efficacy of the synthesized compounds was systematically assessed using the disk diffusion method, which involved testing against two distinct strains of Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria.

Metal-, organo-, and proton-catalyzed carbonyl-olefin/alkyne metathesis reactions have gained relevance in organic synthesis during the past decade, but their potential implementation in high-volume processes (i.e., in flow) is severely hampered by the lack of a general, robust, easily separable, and nontoxic solid catalyst.
